classic ski (escarpment) 40:00 [3] 5.0 km (8:00 / km)
Windy, swirly, snowing day! i was carless, and alone and I couldn't drive anywhere. So eventually out of boredom and the need to get outside I walked to the mechanic over on Concession Rd. 6, north of 27/28 Sideroad. I felt like I was crossing tundra. Snow blowing everywhere. But the sun did come out and it wasn't very cold. I figured if I can ski 50km I should be able to walk 6. It wasn't that nice on the shoulder of 124, but it's a wide shoulder and well-plowed. When I got home again I headed up Sydenham Trail to the end and then off onto the rough trail. It was more like snowshoeing in a couple of spots but there was an ATV trail that was packed just enough to stay on top and be able to glide. Always nice to get out for a ski, No matter how far.:)
