7 AM

classic ski (Highlands) 32:00 [3] 5.5 km (5:49 / km)

Nippy morning at -12 with wind starting to blow. Goose and I went up early to test some classic wax for a couple of people doing the virtual CSM this weekend. The tracks were set but starting to fill in with drifting snow in spots. I had a nice few loops of the green and stadium:). VR40 was perfect
11 AM

skate ski (Highlands) 45:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:00 / km)

The howling winds and relatively low temps scared the crowds away but not the regulars. It was the quietest Sat. we've had. So I donned a staff jacket and skied for a bit. Met up with Eve Loek and had a nice chat and short ski with her on my lunch. In the trees the wind wasn't an issue and the skate conditions were fine.
4 PM

classic ski (Highlands) 50:00 [3] 8.0 km (6:15 / km)

Went out to "sweep" and it was lovely! The wind was dying, the sky was clearing and conditions were still good. There was definitely drifting in many spots but it was very nice for the most part. Tried to politely steer late skiers to the glacier and down. Some just don't have any concept of time and that 4:30 is closing time.
7 PM

snowshoeing (Kolapore) 1:40:00 [3] 5.0 km (20:00 / km)

Goose and I donned our kilts and headed up to Bash's and Bent's for a night snowshoe. We'd agreed that Kolapore in Kilts would be an appropriate substitution for a Robbie Burn dinner this year. The wind died when it got dark and the skies cleared so it was a lovely soft snowy night and we saw stars on our way back from Metcalfe Rock.
