trail Run (Bolton Camp) 30:00 [3] 4.0 km (7:30 / km)

Holy heat wave!! Squeezed in a quick run into Bolton Camp this morning to check out the trail before it was ridiculous out there. It must be too hot even for Harps.
Gotta love trees though - the trail was completely in the shade and relatively cool this morning. My girls still thought they'd hiked a hundred miles this afternoon when it was slightly hotter but it was actually very bearable on the trail. I'd have hated the road though - it was hot enough to fry an egg on the pavement I'm sure.

canoeing (Island Lake) 1:10:00 [3] 7.0 km (10:00 / km)

A third day in a row of just amazingly clear, dry, sunny, weather. It was a bit hotter today but there was a nice breeze that made it very pleasant. Goose, Tman and I did our annual Labour Day paddle with Pops and Susie, as well as Bash and Bent, at Island Lake - which sadly is looking more like a puddle due to the drought conditions this summer. It was so low some little inlets are just mud flats, there are gravel bars we've never seen, and we couldn't even get through one section because it was completely dried up. Yikes. It was still nice to be on water paddling and then of course we had our traditional Labour Day picnic-feast, followed by a visit to DQ :) And that's it for summer 2016. Back to school tomorrow.

canoeing 1:00:00 [3]

Another spectacular summer day - blue blue skies, and blue blue water sparkling in the September sunshine. Goose biked to Stayner (note that Phatty and Hermes? - that's a 3hr ride I suggested as his personal motivator) and Tman and I drove up, met him for lunch at my cousin's then we went to Collingwood for a paddle on Georgian Bay with the swans and Geese. Had an end-of-summer final :( lake swim that was beautiful :).
6 PM

cycling (road) 1:51:00 [3] 42.0 km (2:39 / km)

Goose dropped me off just south of hwy 89 and I rode home on back roads, with lots of hills. It was a clear, gorgeous evening with warm sunshine - but it cooled quickly as the sun started sinking. Fall is in the air.

canoeing 2:30:00 [3]

Too nice a summer day to stay home. We headed north early to find a lake to paddle and swim in and found friends home in Huntsville with not a lot planned so they took us down the Muskoka River to Mary Lake and back. Tman was very relaxed and only needed a little swim break and snack to keep him (and us) happy for quite a long paddled for him. It was lovely. A bit busy , lots of kayaks and SUPs and canoes, and motorboats but everyone was civilized and polite. A full on last weekend of summer, in-the-water day :)

trail Run (Bruce Trail) 2:00:00 [3] 13.0 km (9:14 / km)

Such a change in the weather!! It was actually cool this morning - not even 20 when I dropped Goose off at the Bruce Trail on the top of the 2nd Line, Hockley so he could run back to Glen Haffy where I parked. I ran up the trail toward him and turned around after an hour. He caught up to me at hwy 9 and we finished together. - at a much slower pace than he'd been going. It was quite grey and windy when we finished and we were chilled once we stopped. Fall is in the air.
