Saturday Oct 8 #

Headed out the driveway to go for a run on a gorgeous fall day and promptly blew out my ankle on a pebble? Hobbled home in agony and spent the rest of the day in pain , with ice. :( Drat.

cycling (road) 1:15:00 [4] 28.0 km (2:41 / km)

Rode to school in a very dense fog (with flashing lights). It was like being in a cloud. Water was dripping off my helmet even though it wasn't actually raining. High humidity.
Rather dull PD day - as usual - and such a shame to be indoors on such a spectacular blue-sky day. Squeezed in a long black home again in rather windy conditions but the scenery/fall colours made the effort worthwhile :)
Ready for a long weekend.

12 PM

cycling (road) 30:00 [3] 14.0 km (2:09 / km)

My lunch hour window got reduced, but it was such a glorious fall day out there I had to get out. So I rode as fast as I could up Mt. Hope over to Mt. Pleasant up and down some hills and back. Awesome fall colours against a brilliant blue sky. Worth getting out for sure.

hiking (class) 1:10:00 [3] 4.5 km (15:33 / km)

Too awesome a day not to get outside with my gr.9 girls. Most were happy to hike around Bolton Camp. Some were less-than-thrilled with what they considered a "marathon". They don't know how lucky they are to have such a beautiful natural space with ravines, and gorgeous hardwood canopy, and fall colours in full glory, with trails, 100m from the school. It was lovely.

trail Run (Bolton Camp) 28:00 [4] 4.0 km (7:00 / km)

Had a small window to check out the Bolton Camp trail - to make sure the heavy machinery wasn't at work on it as it was last week. Such a pretty morning - fresh, clear, blue sky, not hot, great colours.
12 PM

trail Run (doggie jog) 25:00 [3]

Had the car today to go to a game so I drove over to take Kato and Jamie for a run on a spectacular autumn afternoon. Dogs do make you feel so loved. Nobody is anywhere near as happy to see me as those dogs are!!
1 PM

hiking (class) 1:00:00 [2] 5.0 km (12:00 / km)

Had to take a class outside today! None of them was as excited as I was to hike through Bolton Camp - they were a bit sick of me reminding them it was phys.ed. class and that we did have to get back for another class today. It was so awesome to be walk under such a beautiful canopy - with dappled sunlight on bright red and orange and yellow leaves. No bugs. Gotta love Ontario in the fall :)

12 PM

cycling (road) 1:05:00 [3] 27.0 km (2:24 / km)

Gorgeous fall day - the colours are really coming out now and were quite vibrant in the Caledon hills as I rode up Mt.Hope and Mt.Pleasant at lunch time. Felt way better than yesterday :)

circuit (classes) 45:00 [3]

circuit x 3 classes

Monday Oct 3 #

1 PM

cycling (road) 40:00 [3] 15.0 km (2:40 / km)

Commute and lunch time easy ride on a grey day. Feel like I'm fighting the cold every other kid, including my own, had last week. No energy, no pop - just flat and tired like the weather.

trail Run (Thames River ) 1:00:00 [3]

The rain had stopped but and it was fresh morning but still pretty grey. The Thames Valley trail was a bit muddy , a few puddles but really not messy at all
considering it drizzled all day yesterday. That's how dry it was this summer I guess. Great run through Western to Gibbons and back up the other side.
Did some strength and balance afterward.
