I failed badly when I tried to try fat biking at ALbion this afternon. Arrived too late to try the demo stuff, tried to rent - that was one frustrating step after another. Albion Hills again. I'm really developing a hate for Albion in the winter. They couldn't have been less interested in renting me a bike - certainly couldn't have made more difficult. So I gave up as my window for being out was closing and did skate drills on the soccer field - nice crust. Did more than 1/2 hour legs only. Good workout - but it was like a pool workout. Back and forth.
Crap day - rain on crusty snow, making is slushy. Practised indoors but the kids needed a kick in the butt. So, we did a tough Tabata, then a stair circuit, and finished with a good long stretch. We'll all be a wee bit sore I think.
Noon hour crust cruise around the school fields to see where the best areas would be for practice, then a practice after school. It was actually pretty good - fast but a bit tough to keep your balance.
Cold day, but mostly clear down here while there were squalls up near Georgian Bay and in western Ontario, whiteouts etc. I headed up the river for a flat, slow ski with lots of over and undering and climbs up the bank to get by tangles of fallen trees. The open places were gorgeous though and totally worth the effort. Got up to Duffy's and realized I needed to try to get back faster since Goose and the Girl were heading out for a night camping in the valley in the canvas tent and needed some daylight.
