weight room (moving) 1:45:00 [3]

It was moving day for all the pole vault and high jump training stuff from the warehouse over to Humberview. All of it heavy. And awkward, hard to carry. It was hard work. I moved the entire set of weight training bars, hand weights and plates - about 10 45 lb plates plus the same in 35, 25, 10 and 5 - out of the room and into my car or onto a truck. Then out of the car and of the truck.

cycling (road/paved trail) 3:00:00 [4] 63.0 km (2:51 / km)

Goose and I had a big window today so Bent and Bash picked up Goose and me to go on a paved trail adventure Bent and Goose had "planned". Starting in the remote, upper reaches of the Humber - we parked at Claireville Dam and rode on the the paved trail (mostly) along the Humber through Etobicoke, and down to Lake Ontario. It was a grey chilly morning but easy riding on the smooth, hill-less trail. Lovely. Except I hadn't eaten since 6 and then heaved huge heavy objects around for 2 hours so I was starting to bonk. Bent gave me a snack to keep me going until we found a nice little cafe: "Cafe Cocoa"where we snarfed down some savoury crepes, oh and a spanakopita. (No butter tarts -with or without raisins.) Felt much better and then we biked back up river as the skies began clearing and finished in sunshine. It was a great outing with good company :)

trail Run (Bolton Camp) 45:00 [3] 5.0 km (9:00 / km)

Pretty nice out by noon. Slow going on mushy, bumpy, rutted, muddy , messy camp roads/trails in Bolton Camp. They have had so much heavy machinery and cut down so many trees it's a like a war zone in there right now and likely will be for quite a while. There is no sign they give a shit about anything but the baseball diamonds going in in the central part. They did of course have to cut down all the ash but they've cut a lot of beech, red and white pine, cherry it's so sad. Not sure why they cut down so much it's very upsetting. It's still nice in some parts but overall quite disturbing and unpleasant - not what you want in a trail run. This must be how the forest creatures feel when their habitat gets destroyed :(

cycling (road/commute) 40:00 [4] 12.0 km (3:20 / km)

Not as mild today, and windier I discovered when I rode the big block to school. I bailed a bit early as I was coughing badly and working way too hard into the wind.

circuit (classes) 30:00 [3]

road run (classes) 25:00 [3] 3.0 km (8:20 / km)

Managed to get the class out for 3 km today. New distance record - but not without a lot of whining and f'bombs

core strength.flexibiity (class) 40:00 [3]

After the run the same class was thrilled to do a series of core exercises like planks etc. then balances. They did start enjoying themselves when we tried handstands and other tricks. There was more whining when we did a good long stretch. I'm so mean.

trail Run (HV trail) 1:50:00 [3]

Felt a bit more energetic today so I set off up the Humber trail at a slow jog. Got off the main trail where it is a full-on clay muck bed and then headed down the old trail. As I was climbing back up out of the valley the rain that was supposed to start again tonight, started again. The cedars offered some shelter so I headed off along the valley under them bushwhacking and following deer runs. The TRCA has made such a mess of the trail anyway it was way nicer to meander through the ravines and stay off the clay quicksand. The rain didn't last too lang and wasn't too cold so I kept trekking and exploring the wetland near the new road. They've planted a lot of trees and shrubs etc. and have tried to make deer exclosures it looks like. Very high metal netting has been strung around a few ponds with new plantings.
