hiking (HV trail) 1:30:00 [3]

Got out for the hike I didn't do yesterday. It was pretty nippy!! But beautiful. So cold still in the afternoon but the dusting of snow we got this morning didn't melt and it was sparkly and lovely.

I was supposed to hike with Hermes and Hank. Whatever. Once again the weather was wet, windy and it was getting colder with winter storm warnings on the radio as we headed out. So we went for a latte instead. I'm pretty sure this Loree Forest is a mythical place. Probably magical too.

hiking (HV trail) 1:00:00 [3] 5.5 km (10:55 / km)

Humber Valley hiking on a sunny but frosty fall morning. Later on Goose and I picked up Pops at the hospice, drove him back to his house and loaded him (with great care and difficulty) into the lawn chair in the bow of the canoe for his November (and another potentially final) paddle on the Humber behind the house. Pretty cool. He was actually able to pull the paddle through the water a few times:)

ski bounding (school practice) 30:00 [3]

First practice with the Humberview nordic team. Did some hill bounding fro skate technique. Bit hard on the knees but the kids were great.

roller ski 1:20:00 [3]

Turned out to be a very fine fall day. Clear, bright, dry - great for a roll roller ski with Mrs. Huet on the freshly paved, traffic-less streets in Cedar Mills.

paddle, hike, bike (Fall 50) 6:20:00 [3]

Pretty sure we didn't do 50 for a variety of reasons today, but we did 5 hours and 80 minutes:)
Mike and Chris Huet, and VO2Max and I paddled in the drizzle and mist from the Duffy's Lane Bridge down river to Goose's parents. It was pretty warm and it never pounded rain it was just really wet, and lovely. Saw several deer.

Lindsey Webster met us as we pulled our canoes up and joined us to hike through Bolton Camp and along the river back to our house.

Then she, Chris and I biked up to Albion and did a double track loop on very slick leaves and roots and a fair bit of muck.

I am very lucky there are always friends who will get out there and do this stuff with me to celebrate my birthday - even on a damp drizzly dreary-looking day.

Oh - and I did 58 push ups. The Girl is my witness:)
