10 AM

skate ski (Highlands) 1:05:00 [3] 16.0 km (4:04 / km)

Cruisey skate on the red before teaching. Such nice conditions:)
2 PM

skate ski (Highlands) 50:00 [3] 10.0 km (5:00 / km)

Another easy ski with a few short sprints. Too nice to not go back out in the gently falling snow. It was like skiing on a cloud.

1 PM

skate ski (Mono) 1:00:00 [3] 14.0 km (4:17 / km)

Steady skate at Mono on fresh snow before torture at the hands of Anna. Skiing was lovely, treatment was not but I did walk out moving more smoothly than when I went in.

skate ski (coaching) 4:00:00 [3]

Goose's Mayfield Invitational Race today at Highlands. Great day for snow conditions and racing. Pretty nippy for just standing around but perfect if you were moving. The course was excellent and the kids did quite well. I got in several intervals sprinting from one spot on the course to another in time to see my skiers and stay warm. A very good day:)

snowshoeing (river) 1:10:00 [3]

Lots of lovely fine snow today begging to be played in. So I strapped on the old Huron racquettes and headed up the river. It was lovely till I tried to go up the bank and into the bush. The Hurons are not good for climbing and going over logs etc. So it was back to the river. Lots of tracks: coyotes, deer, beaver, turkey, mice etc.

10 AM

classic ski (river) 2:15:00 [3] 15.0 km (9:00 / km)

Beauty day - blue bue sky this morning,-10. Perfect for a flat river ski with Goose. We hit a few slushy spots but it was gorgeous. We broke our own trail up to the new parkway bridge and then skied back down in our tracks. Can't be in a bad mood after a ski from the house on a sunny day with satiny snow:)

Monday Feb 5 #

3 PM

skate ski (school practice) 45:00 [3]

Legs only tag, relays, double poling, balance drills with the team on a sunny but nippy winter afternoon with fresh satiny snow:)

Sunday Feb 4 #

10 AM

skate ski (HIghlands) 1:20:00 [3] 17.0 km (4:42 / km)

Not much pop in the legs today but I wasn't sore:) Skied the race course for net week's school race, twice. It's not the familiar route so I want to be able to tell kids where to go. LOTS of snow!! And it snowed all day. Lots of mashed potatoes on the uphills but it was pouffy and satiny and like skiing on a cloud. Love it. Not fast but so heavenly.
3 PM

skate ski (highlands) 1:10:00 [3] 15.0 km (4:40 / km)

Got out for another skate after taking the wee Chipmunks on an "adventure". They were pretty excited to have a cracker picnic out on the trail. SO cute. Goose and I did the red (but not the Woolner) at a slow chatty pace thankfully!
I think I got my mileage in this weekend. Felt good.
