skate ski (Scenic Caves) 1:00:00 [3] 15.0 km (4:00 / km)

Yet another brilliant blue-sky day. Chilly with a raw north wind off the water but in the trees at Scenic Caves the trails were protected and it was fantastic ski conditions today:). We are so lucky!!
We met Bent and Bash - who gave us guest passes, thanks. Goose and I skated with Bent while Bash classic skied. Either one was lovely on beautifully groomed trails.
11 AM

classic ski (Scenic Caves) 32:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:20 / km)

Switched to classic for a chatty loop with Bash and enjoyed the scenery and sunshine.
12 PM

skate ski (Scenic Caves) 1:10:00 [3] 15.0 km (4:40 / km)

Goose and I went for one more loop of the whole system. I was on skate skis so I could keep up to him on classic. It worked out quite well:). Another awesome day of skiing when we thought it would be over by now. Then we went to the Thornbury bakery with mini-Bob and Hermes - where Goose bought a 50lb bag of cinnamon buns. It was like lifting a kettle bell. He thoughtfully shared one with Getaway Stix after his 30km run in the freezing wind.

trail Run (doggie run) 45:00 [3]

It looked like a beautiful bright blue day - and it was, but it was bloody cold! And there was no snow:(. Here anyway. Guess we should have gone north.
Took Kato and Jamie and a visiting Rhodesian Ridgeback, out on the trails behind their place. It was so nice back there; open trail, no hills, a few snow patches and 3 very happy dogs.

circuit 1:00:00 [3]

Workout before a day of travel and sitting. 10 min. jog to the playground.
Circuit: pull ups, leg lifts, dips, push ups, step-ups, jumps etc.
1/2 hour good sustained stretches. Then a less-than-ideal plane trip with more than one screaming child, and our screens didn't work so no movies or
music:(. Our luck had to run out at some point.

cycling (tour) 3:00:00 [3] 27.0 km (6:40 / km)

Goose and I did a day touring Vancouver on borrowed bikes. I had a pink Cadillac single-speed. Smoooooth ride, but not very fast. Stanley Park was nice and flat. Getting back to my brother-in-laws was not flat. It was work. But we had another lovely west coast day.

cycling (Mt Seymour) 1:50:00 [3]

Borrowed Miss Bessie's mt. bike and rode up the parkway and onto some easier trails on Seymour while Leanimal and Goose did a long trail run on the Lynn Valley trails. There was the big slow grind up, then the stairs but it;s so pretty up there in the big trees:)

skate ski (Lost Lake) 1:50:00 [3] 15.0 mi (7:20 / mi)

Left the Island on an early ferry in the rain. Landed in Horseshoe Bay under grey skies. Drove into brilliant sunshine in Sqaumish and it was another day on paradise skiing in Whislter village with Goose's brother:)
We skated the Lost Lake trails in very spring-like snow conditions but it was great. Fast in the trees, a bit slushy and slower in the open spots. Did a huge climb that just about killed my brother-in-law, with awesome views at the top of the Whistler runs. The we bombed down for a snack and another shorter loop. So sweet.
