hiking (Kolapore) 1:45:00 [3] 8.0 km (13:08 / km)

While Goose went off running the trails with Bob and Hermes (who was determined to get a "Crown" on a segment today - and did!) Nana and I took the Hankster on a hike on the Kolapore trails. He was amazing. Running over roots and rocks and checking out bark, sticks, bugs, leaves and flowers for a good km. Was not happy to be put into the pack but did need a rest - he was so hot. Face like a tomato but refused to let us take off the wool sweater his mom put him in today. The warmest day of the year so far. It hit 25 out there this morning. Nana and I enjoyed countless patches of forest carpeted in trilliums, many dark red ones as well as pink and white, nodding trout lilies, tiny Carolina Spring Beauties, Blue Cohosh, Dutchman's Breeches, and wild garlic/leeks. It was a glorious morning in the dappled sunlight of the not-yet-leafed-out deciduous forest. Finally warm! We let Hank out again at a creek crossing where he thoroughly enjoyed dipping his hands in and throwing sticks. Then he walked about another km to the end of the trail, where his parents appeared at exactly the same time:). Goose appeared as well, but sadly had rolled his ankle quite badly. We all had a lovely picnic in Ravenna, even Goose with ice.

1 PM

cycling (road) 3:07:00 [3] 68.0 km (2:45 / km)

Goose and I headed off from Duntroon to get to know some local loops. Rode up, up and up, 91 (never again - too busy, too bumpy, no paved shoulder) from 124 to the Singhampton Rd. and went north for a short ways. Headed west on 31, rolling over hill and dale till it ended at Rd. 13. Turned south into Eugenia where we stopped for a snack and break. Then headed through town, around the lake on Concession Rd. 8 to Feversham then and back east on the 10th concession, rolling up and down back to the Singhampton Rd. 31 and back down 91 (never again). That was a lot of hills1 And it was bloody cold and windy. A ride without a Buff would be nice. Not an easy ride but I felt pretty good.

10 AM

cycling (road) 1:05 [3] 24.0 km (3 / km)

Bright morning but still cool and the steady north wind made it even chillier. Also hard to ride up Duffy's Lane but the way back was fun:).
Duffy's to Old Church,Mt. Hope and home

core strength.flexibiity 30:00 [4]

cycling (road/rail trail) 1:50:00 [3] 37.0 km (2:58 / km)

Sunnier and a bit warmer this afternoon, but I still wore my windbreaker and Buff. Headed up Mt. Hope to Old Church, then up the mother of a hill north on Mt Pleasant. It's a big hill, and it was into the wind today. Carried on to Hunsden east to Mt. Wolfe then west on the rail trail to Humber Station with the wind behind me, and home across Old Church to Duffy's. Another good day of mileage on the touring bike.

hiking (Duntroon) 30:00 [3]

Such a bright beautiful morning! Hiked up to the end of Sydenham Trail and found a set of paths further up the escarpment that came out to an open field with stunning views of the bay.:)
10 AM

cycling (road) 30:00 [3] 10.0 km (3:00 / km)

Having arrived early in Stratford I used the window for a wee pedal around town, along the Avon, before meeting my mom and sister to see "Billy Elliott". It was sooo good.

10 AM

cycling (road) 1:05:00 [3] 23.0 km (2:50 / km)

Drove from Duntroon up to Ravenna and parked. Then rode down, down, down into Beaver Valley, and along the river to Thornbury - carrying lasagna. Stopped for butter tarts in Heathcote and then carried on for lunch at Hank's house with Hermes and Bob.
1 PM

cycling (road) 1:25:00 [3] 27.0 km (3:09 / km)

Dragged Hermes out for a ride on the rail trail and then up a country road in gorgeous sunshine! It was so nice. She peeled off to go home and then I rode back, up, up, up to my car in Ravenna. I didn't want to stop it was such a gorgeous afternoon in spectacular countryside.
4 PM

cycling (road) 1:15:00 [3] 24.0 km (3:08 / km)

It was too nice out not to ride some more so I biked from our spot in Duntroon
down, down, down into Stayner to visit my cousins and have dinner and then biked back up as the sun was setting. Great day!

2 PM

cycling (road) 1:55:00 [3] 40.0 km (2:53 / km)

Kept thinking it was going to get warmer and clearer, but it was cool grey and windy all afternoon and I was a bit chilly on the bike.
6 PM

hiking (Bolton Camp) 1:30:00 [3]

Met the Tues. night ladies and dragged them from Gunda's over to Bolton Camp for an adventure (relatively speaking) . Getting Margo, who just turned 80, across the creek on a log was a bit touch and go but what a beautiful evening. The skies cleared and the sun was actually warm!
