7 AM

swim (Lake Couchiching) 25:00 [3] 1.0 km (25:00 / km)

Early morning swim after a jog, in warm silky smooth water at Leanimal's mom's in Orillia. I love lake swimming.

road run 30:00 [3] 4.0 km (7:30 / km)

It was just too beautiful a morning not to get up and get outside. The rest of the house was still asleep so I snuck out quietly and jogged on the rail trail to the park and back under the big maples.

core strength.flexibiity 30:00 [3]

Lovely long stretch and stability session with Jill on the dock at her mom's place in Orillia on a gorgeous summer morning:)
3 PM

canoeing (Beaver River) 1:00:00 [3]

Visited my cousin and his wife on my way through Stayner from Orillia to Thornbury to drop off the red canoe at Hermes' place. They agreed that it was the perfect afternoon to make use of the 2 canoes on my roof and came with me to the Beaver, shuttled cars and we paddled from Heathcote to Slabtown. It was a bit of a slalom through the many giant animal-shaped floating toys - car-sized swans, ducks and dolphins - being used by several large groups we encountered en route. they were staying well hydrated as they all had drinks in hand . Everyone was friendly and happy to be out on such a perfect summer afternoon. We had a lovely paddle and I got help from my cousin unloading the red canoe again in Thornbury since Hermes and Bob were away running some little trail called Silver Peak.

canoeing (Whitefish Lake) 30:00 [3] 4.0 km (7:30 / km)

Very pretty misty morning with a heavy fog that glowed gold, and burned off in wispy tendrils as the sun rose. it was magic. Went for a sweet solo around the island and across the lake and back while loons called. So cool.
10 AM

swim (Algonquin) 30:00 [3] 1.0 km (30:00 / km)

Swam from our island to a beach. Swam the first part alone then accompanied Weeanimal, Kaden and tBig E when they jumped out of the canoes 1/2 way. Then I swam part way back and came back to the beach alone. Spectacular conditions for being in the lake:)
1 PM

canoeing (Whitefish Lake) 1:15:00 [3] 5.0 km (15:00 / km)

Paddled with Big E and Kaden from the beach back to the put-in at Whitefish group campground. It was slow but pleasant and we saw 2 baby loons with their parents.

canoeing (Whitefish Lake) 1:10:00 [3] 5.0 km (14:00 / km)

Put in at the group campground at Whitefish Lake in Algonquin on calm water in brilliant sunshine after an hour spent blueberry picking at Mew Lake. I paddled with Weeanimal and Kaden sharing the bow seat and paddling up a storm. Found a great island site with a nice level tent spot and perfect swimming area. Such a great day.
3 PM

swim (Whitefish Lake) 30:00 [3] 1.5 km (20:00 / km)

Nice swim off the island campsite and around part of the island and back followed by a lot of swimming with Big E, Kaden and Mari. So fun. Such amazingly beautiful warm summer weather and perfect swimming/paddling conditions for small kids.

cycling (road/trail) 2:55:00 [3] 45.0 mi (3:53 / mi)

Couldn't get out on the bike till later in the heat again. Had Tman this morning.
Rode the mt. bike on road/rail trail to Cal. East then back to Albion on rail trail. Rode the single track at the north end in the pines and then the hardwood canopy in the northeast. Conditions are excellent. Great trails. THen I rode out the south end and down Duffy's to Castlederg, over to Mt. Hope and home. It was a hot day but there was actually a lot of shade on the Albion trails ,rail trail and even on the roads, and there was a west wind again. Lovely evening ride - no mountain mudslides, hail storm, snowy or flooded roads like the Tour de France!
