skate ski (park) 40:00 [3]

It was just cold enough for a bit of crust this morning so I skated around the park and soccer fields before it got any warmer. It was nice:)

insanity intervals 35:00 [3]

Felt the need for some intensity so I did some "Insanity" and definitely broke a sweat and got my heart rate up. (Which I needed to do after eating MaxVo2's chocolate cake last night!)
4 PM

cycling (road) 30:00 [3] 10.0 km (3:00 / km)

The sun came out later this afternoon and it was very mild so I went for a short spin up the paved trail and back.

snowshoeing (Palgrave Forest) 1:45:00 [3]

Snowglobe snowy morning. Big fat flakes coming straight down. Goose and I headed up to Palgrave Forest for a tromp in the woods on snowshoes and had a lovely time. Then we got a call from Tman's day program saying he was
not himself, they couldn't wake him up for 3 hours, he couldn't stand up at all. So went to get him and he definitely could not stand up. He was pale, glassy- eyed, couldn't keep his eyes open or his head up. Looked a lot like a drunk or a drugged out person. Turns out he was. The workers at his house had given him his roommate's meds - and he's twice the size - and it's a sedative. Tman never got his own. He was quickly and well examined, had his blood and pee tested, his chest and abdomen x-rayed etc. right away at the Peel Memorial urgent care clinic - but it was still about 3 hours. Mostly we had to wait to see if the effects were wearing off. Bit scary but he started perking up and managed to eat dinner out with us, then walk tipsily into his house. Another tale of Tman.

classic ski (Mono) 1:00:00 [3]

Took some stuff to the Mono ski swap and since there was still enough snow there, headed out on my crowns to check out their trails. Ross had run the snowmobile over them to try to pack the snow down enough for people to be able to kick in a track but too many walkers had been out so it was bumpy and not very nice. However, right beside that and in sections where he hadn't run the snowmobile, no walkers had gone there so it was actually lovely for kicking in my own classic track:). Gorgeous blue skies and sunshine but it was early enough that the snow wasn't sticky. Another smiley day on snow!

classic ski (Highlands) 1:10:00 [3] 10.0 km (7:00 / km)

What a day!! It was like a crisp, bright mid-winter day with lots of snow and lots of sunshine. Cold to start and stayed clear and dry all day. Awesome. Goose and I did a very civilized steady classic ski in decent tracks. Chanse had been able to groom the green, first and second fingers, flat 500 and back orange. And it was lovely:). I tried my skins since I thought it was going to trickier waxing but I could've been on my good skis. The skins were a bit slippy at first until I found the pocket and my technique improved.
1 PM

skate ski (Highlands) 1:50:00 [3] 20.0 km (5:30 / km)

After some lunch Goose and I set out on skate skis in sparkling snow. It was equally awesome. Repeated the upper loops a few times, did a few legs only, did some double poling - all with a big smile on my face just like everyone else who was up there enjoying some fine early season skiing. Lots of snow, lots of sunshine, no wind. Sweet.
