classic ski (Highlands) 2:10:00 [3] 19.0 km (6:51 / km)

Such a nice ski with my friend Ariana:). The snow was just beautiful and the tracks were in great shape. We both had our skin skis and they worked well.

skate ski (Highlands) 2:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (10:00 / km)

Met 3 of my school skiers for a practice. They worked so hard. Lots of off-setting drills = lots of hills:). (They were not loving me.) Then we made out way around the system, repeating some sections to master downhill turns and transitions. It was fun and the conditions were ideal.

core strength.flexibiity 40:00 [3]

Found a quiet spot and did a lot of Bosu ball 1-foot balances, then abs/back ex., planks, stretching

snowshoeing 1:00:00 [3]

Crazy snowy slippery morning but then a gorgeous blue-sky afternoon with a layer of fresh snow. So Goose and I went for a very pleasant snowshoe through the park and then upriver along the west side, then over to Edelweiss and around the soccer fields.

skate ski (Highlands) 2:00:00 [3] 2100.0 km (3 / km)

They got another layer of fresh snow so it was pillowy on top of good cover and very sweet skiing. Goose and I skied with some locals so it was a very chatty social ski - which is harder than it sounds because you're trying to talk and going up those hills early in the season while trying to talk leaves you breathless! It was so nice up there it seemed a shame to leave.
3 PM

skate ski (school practice) 1:00:00 [3]

Nice clear afternoon but nippy with the wind. We did more legs only, double poling drills and then an agility course in the James Bolton playground as the sun slipped down. The snow was a bit crusty and bumpy but it was better than roller skiing.

classic ski (Highlands) 1:20:00 [3] 12.0 km (6:40 / km)

Goose and I headed up to Highlands since they got enough snow to cover their trail again. There was no track but the trail had been packed and a nice new layer was falling on top so kicking our own tracks was fine. I did ice up a bit even after putting de-icing stiff on my Zeros but it was really lovely out:)

classic ski (park) 1:10:00 [3] 8.0 km (8:45 / km)

Very cold by this morning but I was babysitting a 3-month-old so I had to wait until later. The snow was getting a bit sticky again, but better than yesterday. I skied through the park and then did 200m repeats on the soccer fields, and skied home. It was good. I love snow. I love skiing.

classic ski (park) 45:00 [3] 5.0 km (9:00 / km)

Lots of snow! But a bit sticky underneath so I stopped regularly to knock off the clumps but on the snow on top was nice:)

skate ski (Highlands) 1:50:00 [3]

The freezing rain started about when we started skiing this morning and it was a bit nasty at first. Icy pellets stinging the cheeks and we were coated in a crunchy glaze but the snow was quite good. Sugary and fast. We were sharing the patch of snow with the Trailblazers so it was busy but good. An Ontario team coach was visiting and he set up a pretty fun obstacle course which we repeated many times. Then everyone headed heavily coated with ice and cold but I was enjoying the fast snow and the fact that there was snow at all, so I skied for quite a while happily by myself:)
