10 AM

classic ski (Highlands) 45:00 [3] 5.0 km (9:00 / km)

Social ski with Ariana and Melanie before teaching. Gorgeous trail conditions, but very, very windy. As long as you were in the trees it was lovely. Lots of drifting in open spots.
11 AM

classic ski (lessons) 3:00:00 [3]

2 lessons. 5 and 7-yr.old same 2 from last week, did well. And a 40 yr.old woman who worked very hard.
2 PM

skate ski (Highlands) 1:20:00 [3] 15.0 km (5:20 / km)

Rib/chest still quite painful so I skied mostly legs only around the system, skipped the back red due to the strong wind and drifts but did the Woolner and some extra loops. A bit slow but the legs felt good.

3 PM

classic ski (Wasaga) 1:20:00 [3] 11.0 km (7:16 / km)

Worked this morning, got my ofsaa paperwork done and Goose and I got on the road. Picked up ski gear, and Chanse, at Highlands and went over to Wasaga Prov.Park where we met Hayden to ski the Blueberry Trails. Beautiful and quiet. Pretty flat until you get to the High Dunes trail. Unfortunately my rib/chest was very painful with any hard poling but it was nice to ski at a different place.
Fun, and hearty Highlands Valentine's dinner afterward with Bash and Bent.

9 AM

classic ski (park) 1:00:00 [3] 7.0 km (8:34 / km)

Still mild this morning and snowing softly. Skied several laps of the park/soccer fields on a bit of fresh snow on top of a soft crust. It wasn't fast but it was a good workout. My rib still hurts:(

Wednesday Feb 12 #

10 AM

weight room (class) 30:00 [3]

!/2 hour weight circuit with a bunch of boys in the class I was supply teaching.
Light weights but lots of reps.

core strength.flexibiity (class) 20:00 [3]

The we did a core strength series and a good stretch. Pretty sure they were not expecting to work that hard with a supply teacher:)

Tuesday Feb 11 #

ROPSSAA nordic today. Spent a lot of time outside starting racers, and at the finish line, and out cheering but no time on skis. All the coaches officiated today. Great conditions and great weather for a ski race:). Kids had a blast.

Monday Feb 10 #

10 AM

classic ski (Highlands) 1:15:00 [3] 12.0 mi (6:15 / mi)

Warmer morning, soft buttery snow. Went for an easy classic ski before heading south.

Sunday Feb 9 #

9 AM

classic ski (lessons) 2:00:00 [3]

Good classic lessons with adults. Well-behaved, intelligent and self-motivated:)
11 AM

skate ski (lessons) 2:00:00 [3]

2 more lessons with women who were keen and athletic. Fun.
3 PM

skate ski (Highlands) 1:30:00 [3] 22.0 km (4:05 / km)

Rib wasn't too irritated so I went for a skate. Did some legs only but was able to use poles and wasn't in agony. It wasn't the brilliant day yesterday was but this morning was sunny and it did get warmer so the snow was faster. Skated the entire system except Teal's Tango.
