canoeing (Belwood Lake) 1:45:00 [3] 15.0 km (7:00 / km)

Had a plan for another outdoor meeting with my mom in St.Marys this time, so Goose and I paddled at Belwood en route. The lake was pretty busy with all manner of power boats, paddle boards, kayaks, fishers, bridge jumpers etc. as well as bike riders on the trail. Looked like any summery sunny day but people were keeping their distance. It was quite windy so we did get a workout on the way back to the put-in.
6 PM

cycling (road/rail trail) 45:00 [3] 15.0 km (3:00 / km)

After our picnic near the river we did a tour of St. Marys on the "Loop Trail" - some gravel path, some paved, some side streets. Beautiful evening.

mtbike (Palgrave) 2:00:00 [3] 24.0 km (5:00 / km)

Thinking a ride in the shade might be good on a hot day, Goose and I drove up to Palgrave, parked on the street and rode to the trails. They were excellent but not marked so we repeated a few sections and were probably riding some in the wrong direction but it was pretty quiet. We saw a group of 3 guys, with music blaring (?) a couple of times and a family of hikers but otherwise we had the place to ourselves:).

cycling (road) 1:00:00 [3] 22.0 km (2:44 / km)

Hot summery day but I didn't feel overheated riding or gardening. Guess I'm acclimatizing. Took a long route to Susie's to hoe, weed, water etc. It's looking pretty good:)

deed:
- walked my mother through how to host a Zoom meeting. Me. The techy type!
- took some delicious watermelon to Susie who has a surprisingly big appetite for it

hiking (Singhampton Caves) 2:20:00 [3] 11.0 km (12:44 / km)

Goose had a grand plan for a day of activity near Collingwood. We started by dropping off our bikes at Highlands and then parking at the Pretty River snowmobile lot. It had rained heavily at home with thunderstorms last night but they missed this area. It was grey and damp but not too wet. We hiked, and jogged some sections, of the now open Bruce Trail up and up, then and took the side rail to the Standing Rock and Caves. So cool. Literally. There was a thick layer of snow there and quite a bit of slippery ice in the cracks where the trail goes. Bit dicey. Then we continued south and over 91 where we then bushwhacked a bit to get onto the Highlands Millenium Loop and took the ski trail down to the chalet. Very nice hike
12 PM

cycling (road) 25:00 [3] 10.0 km (2:30 / km)

From Highlands we road pretty much all downhill back to the car into a cool headwind off the lake but it was good.
2 PM

canoeing (Beaver River) 2:30:00 [3] 18.0 km (8:20 / km)

We drove to Heathcote and locked up the bikes then drove upriver to Kimberley to the put-in. We paddled steadily, under bright blue skies and saw and heard so many birds, including a rare sighting of a night heron. I've never seen one up close anyway. This one was right at water level on a log and very beautiful. We saw several egrets and herons, muskrats, and even the resident beaver back at the put-in afterward when we picked up the car. It was so peaceful and pretty. Saw a few kayakers near Epping and one at Heathcote but that was it for humans.
5 PM

cycling (road) 35:00 [3] 12.0 km (2:55 / km)

From Heathcote we cycled back up to Kimberley to get the car and had a nice swim. It was a nice ride because the wind was at our backs off the lake:)
8 PM

cycling (bike trails) 1:00:00 [3] 19.0 km (3:09 / km)

Stopped to say hi to friends in Collingwood after we managed to find somewhere to order fish and chips from for supper. They wanted to take us for a tour of the bike trails since it was such a beautiful evening and they had worked all day. We were diligent about staying spread out and we had a gorgeous tour of Collingwood along the pier, the lakeshore, then up the rail trail and around the outskirts. It was all flat and we had a nice chat. Very civilized :)

Deed:
- dropped off lasagna and baked goodies to Kelly and Chanse in Duntroon

circuit (park) 40:00 [3]

Wet morning after some rain overnight, and nice and cool. But my left leg and Achilles have been bothering me for a while now so a full run just hurts.
Jogged 10 min. around the park, then did a circuit: 2 stations then a run, or skip or hop etc. across the 3 sand courts and back x 10
- dips, push ups, mt. climbers, bench blasts etc.
And jogged home
5 PM

cycling (road) 40:00 [3] 13.0 mi (3:05 / mi)

Wimpy old lady ride around the north hill subdivisions after a bit of gardening. Feeling very blue, tired and sore everywhere again today.

deed:
- lasagna and baked goodies to Tman's house (sadly still can't see him)
- walk with Susie

cycling (road) 1:10:00 [3] 22.0 km (3:11 / km)

Put in a good effort in the garden today. Things are growing, including weeds. It was a nice day but quite windy. I was tired by the time I went for a bike ride, and just didn't have much in me to buck the wind. The lilacs were still nice but they're almost done already.

mtbike (Albion Hills) 1:45:00 [3] 22.0 km (4:46 / km)

Drove up to Albion with Goose and rode the trails above the pool and then the northeast hardwood trails. It was really good again but this Sunday there were actually other people there. Last Sun. there was only one car at the Duffy's Lane south access. Today there were about 8!. We still didn't see a lot of people but there were definitely more than last time. Including a group of about 8 or 9 young men in jeans and tank tops but not helmet among them. And then we realized the park was open. There were cars in every parking lot. I couldn't believe we didn't see more people. I guess there's a lot of space there. I left Goose and rode home when my thumbs and wrists couldn't take any more pounding and braking. I love the trails but my hands can only take so much:(

deed:
- lasagna for Susie and a walk
