trail Run (HVtrail) 1:00:00 [3] 6.0 km (10:00 / km)

Finally rain!! Warm steady rain today on and off after some thunderstorms overnight. The drop in temps felt so good, but talk about humidity. Went out on the trail for 20 min. then did 5 x the metal stairs, 30 sec. sprint up, 1:00min. down/rest to recover. And I couldn't keep the sweat from running in my eyes.
Then I did 20 sec. on of various movements/10 sec. rest x 10
- dbl pole action, jjacks, mt. climbers, push ups, dips, 1-leg/arm pumps, plank twists, squats, high knees, criss-cross jumps
Ran back down the trail with 5 x 30 sec. sprints
Jogged through the park and picked plump juicy black raspberries:)

cycling (road/rail trail) 1:35:00 [3] 35.0 km (2:43 / km)

Put in a good 3 hours of hoein', weedin' and waterin' in the relatively cool early morning. It still seemed ok outside after that so I rode up Mt. Pleasant which still had some shade and was bearable - until the monster climb. No shade. That's as much intensity as I've done for a while but I made it to the top, then finished most of my water bottle. The other side was beautiful winding down in the shade. Recovered on the rail trail through Palgrave and home down Humber Station. It was definitely hot.

mtbike (3 stage) 50:00 [3] 8.5 km (5:53 / km)

Having been tested for Covid Sunday, and having no contact with anyone, we were happy to find out last night that Tman, Goose and I do not have Covid. This meant Tman could go back to his Brampton house . Then Goose and I drove up to Pretty River Prov. Park and tried some of the 3 Stag trails which we do not know at all. It was great to be under such a gorgeous canopy on such a bloody hot day. We spent some time off our bikes on the black trail we got on. Too many rock piles for me and my bad thumbs and forearms. We got back onto the blue trails and really enjoyed them but our time was running out before we were to meet up with Hermes and her boys. We'll have to go back.
4 PM

canoeing (Castle Glen) 30:00 [1] 2.0 km (15:00 / km)

Not a workout but a pleasant paddle around " Lake of the Clouds". A rather grandiose name for an artificial , swampy pond. It is swimable in places which was nice after biking but quite shallow, and weedy. Kind of a mini Island Lake.
The Hankster had a good outing with his dad in one canoe while Goose and I paddled another one. Then we watched Heath and Hank while mom and dad paddled a lap. It was nice to see a loon couple and a baby:)
We also saw Wanda there with her paddleboard.

Note

Just soooo hot! Chose to garden in the cool morning window. Had sweat running in my eyes the whole time. It's summer.

cycling (road/rail trail) 2:05:00 [3] 47.0 km (2:40 / km)

Goose has a sore forearm so I was sent off early to get a ride in before the heat. It was gorgeous again:). Clear, cool enough to start with a windbreaker and quiet. Until I got near Cal. East. It was pretty busy there so I went off on side roads north and then back home again. The knee was sore if I clipped my cleat in but if I just stayed out of the cleat my knee didn't hurt, I just felt a bit lopsided. Saw 2 young deer in 2 different spots. They're quite rusty-coloured right now. And it did get stinkin' hot later so I'm glad I got kicked out the door early.

hiking (HVtrail) 1:30:00 [3]

The knee is still tender so I couldn't really run. I jogged a bit and did some ski striding on hills. It was lovely and cool in the shade in the early morning again. Gotta love trees!

cycling (road/rail trail) 2:05:00 [3] 46.0 km (2:43 / km)

What a beautiful cool clear morning again! Rode up the hills toward Albion Hills but my knee was sore so I got onto the rail trail and stayed off the hills for a while. Rode to Tottenham and home. The shade on the rail trail was delicious:)
12 PM

canoeing (Island Lake) 45:00 [3]

Nothing like heading out at noon on a stinkin" hot day but it was actually pretty nice on the lake. Again, there was a ridiculous line-up out to the houses from the entrance so we put in on the far side so Tman wouldn't have a melt down. It was nice to see the loons:)
As we departed with the canoe on the roof a Credit Valley Conservation truck was heading down the road - probably looking for us.
