Note

Supply teaching today. Gr.9 girls - phys.ed. We did a variety of activities for their 21/2 hour class, all 12 of us in a full gym. No one else at all around. It's so weird - but very easy to stay far more than 2 m apart. After a wee warm up and circuit we did volleyball and basketball drills since they're not allowed to play "games" or scrimmage. Then we went outside for a couple of laps on the track. Back inside we followed several "Just Dance" videos which I have never done. Hilarious. Quite a lot of movement and fun. I'll have to try it again sometime:)

cycling (stationary bike ) 1:00:00 [3]

Supply teaching - lead a small class of 8 girls with about 5 metres radius around each bike in the Mayfield cafeteria. We worked pretty hard.
5 min. easy spin warm up, 5 min. dynamic stretches
10 min. steady ride, then a ladder:
4 x 10 secs. sprint 10 easy
3 x 20, 2 x 30 then back down
easy spin to recover a bit
off for some strength
on again:
5 min. easy spin
4 x 10 x up to stand for 4, down for 4
steady spin fro a few minutes
4 x 10 up continuous, down for 30 sec.
chatty spin for 15 min.
Nice class, eerily quiet, thankfully there was a speaker to plug in some music
It was still very mild so we went for a walk outside to cool down, and did a final stretch

cycling (road/rail trail) 2:00:00 [3] 40.0 km (3:00 / km)

Another in this unheard of string of summery warm days in November. It got up to 23c today. Crazy. Took a break from packing and rode up to Gore and the rail trail then east to Palgrave. Left my bike in the trees and made my way down a steep bank to the river and found a spot just deep enough for some breastroke - 25 :). Then rode on to Mt. Pleasant and up the monster hill and down home.

Note

Bit of a rest day and it was gorgeous again. After more packing chores I had to get outside and went for a 10km toddle around town on my bike then walked with Susie.

cycling (road) 1:10:00 [3] 21.0 km (3:20 / km)

Another beautiful, warm, clear day. Perfect for the Fall 50. Too bad it was the Covid year and we decided to just do a hike to keep it simple and safe. The one year we wouldn't have frozen our toes off on the bikes, or in the canoe:(
But Goose and I did ride up to meet the group at the trail access and it was cool to start but we were roasting after the first hill - and there were many big ones.
Rose up to Castlederg and over to Centreville Creek. Cycled up all the hill, north of Finnerty and met the hikers at the Oak Ridges Trail. It was a pretty ride, and pretty hard.
10 AM

hiking (Glen Haffy) 2:00:00 [3] 10.0 km (12:00 / km)

Met up with Tammy, Crash and her friend Scott, Bash and Bent, Mrs. and Mr. Huet, Richard R. Sadly Rob - who had lobbied to do this hike - wasn't feeling well enough:(
We hiked the Oak Ridges trail northwest to the Bruce Trail through Glen Haffy. Saw a fair few hikes - no surprise on a spectacular day like it was. Chatted a lot and got caught up with everyone. Stopped at the trout pond and ate our individually bagged snacks we each had brought to give to each other . It was lovely to sit in the warm sun. I was tempted to jump in for a swim.
Then we hiked back through the park to the cars/bikes. What a nice hike! SO glad we met up to do that.
1 PM

cycling (road) 55:00 [3] 21.0 km (2:37 / km)

Goose and I had another snack then rode the hills back home, thankfully more down than up in that direction:). Such a nice day:)
And he and I actually did do 50km
