classic ski (Highlands) 1:20:00 [3] 12.0 km (6:40 / km)

Pretty chilly morning at -20. But no wind and the sun came out for a while so driveway duty wasn't bad. It seemed to get damper and an east wind came up later in the afternoon. Went out to sweep the trails with Kelly, Goose and Sanna and it started snowing. Very pretty and a lovely light layer made the tracks a dream. We had such a nice a ski to finish the day:)

core strength.flexibiity 40:00 [3]

Been doing a daily stretch of the tight back but needed to do a good long one of everything. Plus planks, balances
12 PM

skate ski (Highlands) 1:20:00 [3] 17.5 km (4:34 / km)

The "On the Bay" magazine editor asked Kelly to find someone older than 55 for a skate ski photo shoot. There are many excellent skiers she could have asked. But since we hang around and don't work during the week that's the best she could do. Goose and I met the photographer out front and he snowshoed up and took pictures as we skied, Kind of fun. We talked him into going right up to the lookout and although it wasn't a bright clear blue sky it was clear enough to see the bay and many beautiful layers of blue. Cold though. So after an hour of staging shots i was ready to move to warm up.
Skied a warm up short blue loop. The n did some intervals
4 x back orange (4:20 x4) with cut thru' to rest, tried to sprint up twin peaks
3 x ridge top loop (approx. 3:00 x 3) with 20 sec. rest,
2 x 2:00 hard on the Hawberry with 30 sec. rest.
1:00 hard uphill on the driving range, 1 min. on the flat past the lookout
Then down to the green for a lap, and over to Teal's Tangos for a 3km mindless cooldown

classic ski (Highlands) 3:25:00 [3] 33.0 mi (6:13 / mi)

Snow-globe morning! Gentle swirling, big, fat flakes layering to make a pillowy layer on top of hard tracks. It was like heaven. Met the Thurs. ladies for a lovely loop. A bit tired from yesterday's exertions but once we got warmed up it was great. After that loop I met up with Mrs. Huet for another one. It was just too beautiful not to stay out.

skate ski (Highlands) 2:40:00 [3] 36.0 km (4:27 / km)

Nippy but beautiful morning with great snow conditions. I was feeling it so I skied pretty hard for the first 11/2hr. then backed off a bit. Fastest I've skied for that far this year. It must be Feb.!!
3 PM

skate ski (Highlands) 1:00:00 [3] 5.0 km (12:00 / km)

My weekly ski with Brett the slow lady. She's getting faster and we did get up the escarpment:)
4 PM

classic ski (Highlands) 25:00 [3] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)

I was pretty tired when I finished skating but Goose wanted me to test a new grip wax: "Green Guru". So I skied back up to the first finger and Blue. The wax was good. Nice grip and good glide:)

classic ski (Highlands) 1:40:00 [3] 17.0 km (5:53 / km)

Nice classic ski with Mrs.Huet on superb conditions:0
3 PM

classic ski (Kolapore) 1:40:00 [3] 10.5 km (9:31 / km)

Hermes wanted to try a ski at Kolapore and then the Ohrlings decided to join us. So we met up at the southwest corner and had a lovely fairly gentle tour of that section. Light snow was softly falling as the light began to fade and it was so pretty.

1 PM

skate ski (Scenic Caves) 2:00:00 [3] 26.0 km (4:37 / km)

Clear skies by noon and brilliant blue. Chilly but gorgeous day. I finally got up to Scenic Caves and had a really good skate. It was pretty quiet there and very well-groomed. A swet ski. Murphy's Romp is so fun I did it 3 times:)

Sunday Feb 7 #

3 PM

skate ski (Highlands) 1:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:00 / km)

End of the day sweep. It was a blustery day again but not as wild as yesterday and we got some sun between squalls. It was calmer when I headed out and it was a nice ski but getting colder as I finished.
