canoeing (Beaver River) 1:00:00 [3] 7.0 km (8:34 / km)

Crazy weather day. Bright blue morning, lots of sunshine and wind. Took the canoe to the Beaver and it promptly started raining. Got heavier. Let up. Rained again, turned to snow. more snow. Then the clouds broke and the sun shone. Then it snowed again as we drove across the escarpment. It was white up top. Down in town no snow. Then some rain, More sun. More rain. Many rainbows throughout the day. I've never seen so many in a day.
No wildlife on the river really. Just one big beautiful blue heron.
Paddling didn't hurt the rib really but tugging on the straps sure did. Maybe there's a small dislocated rib.

trail Run 20:00 [3] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Short slow run on the Humber trail before going in to supply teach. It was damp but mild and very pleasant to be in my old stomping grounds.

cycling (road) 45:00 [3] 16.0 mi (2:49 / mi)

Biked up Bramalea to Old School, west to Dixie, up to King and back. Quite a strong west wind but clear and bright:)

weight room 1:00:00 [3]

Kind of a cool grey day. I did an "executive workout" at lunch time. 10 min. on the rowing machine, some weights, some bosu ball, another 10 min. on the rowing machine, some stretching.
Then some more of the same with one of the classes

hiking (Bolton Camp) 40:00 [3]

I had 1 single solitary soul in the math class I covered this morning. So to divide the seemingly endless 2 1/2 hr. class up she and I went for a nice hike in Bolton Camp on a fine fall morning. She had never been there and it turned into an adventure when we had to ford a small creek. She had never crossed a creek without a bridge before. She said "This is just like in a movie!".

cycling (road) 40:00 [3] 13.0 km (3:05 / km)

Brisk but bright day. Got out at lunch for a road ride up Mt. Hope

cycling (rail trail) 1:00:00 [3] 22.0 km (2:44 / km)

Ridiculously warm day for Nov.8! It got up to 20c in C'wood. Susie and I did a flat town trail ride in the brilliant and very warm sunshine today. It was pretty windy from the southwest but not a cloud in the sky. I wanted to jump into the bay but there were house reno errands to do on a timeline:(

hiking (Palgrave) 2:00:00 [3] 6.7 km (17:55 / km)

Absolutely picture perfect Fall 50 day! Crisp in the early morning but it was sunny and warmed up steadily. I think we had 13 for part 1- the hike:
Kevin, Gunde and Makenna, Crash, Bash and 'Bent, Mr. and Mrs. Huet, Tammy and Rob, VO2Max, Goose and I , plus 2 very excited and vociferous dogs. We didn't walk very fast partly due to various age-related injuries and ailments, but also because we were chatting and catching up. We wandered the trails behind Bash's and Bent's place and into the Wheelwright woods. So pretty, fragrant and covered with fallen leaves.
1 PM

cycling (rail trail) 2:30:00 [3] 45.0 km (3:20 / km)

After way too many baked goodies including Tammy's delicious cinnamon buns, Crash's famously decadent brownies, L-D cookies, washed down with coffee, plus fruit from the Huets, 1/2 the group carried on with bikes. It was not a fast transition, but a very pleasant, high calorie and tasty one:)
We rode a bit of trail through the woods to the rail trail at Duffy's Lane then west to Inglewood. We tried out the new Coydog Cafe - excellent lattes.
Then rode back to Bash's and Bent's house in the warm sunshine on the first day of Eastern Standard Time. Such a nice day. And we did hit 50km:)
So lucky to have friends who enjoy this type of birthday party!
Thanks to Bash and Bent for hosting us in their yard, making coffee and leading the hike.
