Saturday May 18 #

11 AM

core/upper body strength 40:00 [3]

Between Goetzsis decathlon events I lifted upper body handweights and then ran some stairs.
5 PM

cycling (road/trail) 3:00:00 [3] 50.0 km (3:36 / km)

Connie and Dave O asked us to ride late today and we rode over to Wasaga and to the far end to check out the action on the Beach. It was such a summery evening and people were out on enjoying the beach and the water but it wasn't stupid crowded. I stopped for a dip:)
We ate at Twisted Indian then biked home again. Such a civilized and pleasant ride on a gorgeous evening.

Friday May 17 #

Morning walk with the coffee ladies and then a drive in rainy weather to see my mom and sister

Thursday May 16 #

9 AM

cycling (road/trail) 1:45:00 [3] 40.0 km (2:38 / km)

Nice day. Susie and I rode the trail trail to Wasaga and meandered a bit before turning home. Nice ride:)
Then it was up to Highlands to get the first ever Trailblazers Biath-O-lon set up.
Superfun. Such keeners - all of them!

Wednesday May 15 #

7 AM

cycling (train trail) 1:45:00 [3] 38.0 km (2:46 / km)

Early ride to Stayner and around the bird sanctuary with Connie O and Carolyn on a beautiful cool spring morning. Lots of trilliums along the trail, apple blossoms, lilacs. So nice.
12 PM

canoeing (Mad River) 2:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (10:00 / km)

Goose and I explored the Mad River for the first time. Put in at the bridge at Singhampton and paddled at short way downriver as far as the fallls then turned around and went upriver - way further than we expected. It was gorgeous and quiet and we saw no one. Very different from the Beaver and Nottawasaga. It was marshy with lots of dogwood and alder, very much like the Amable du Fond from South River into Algonquin. We paddled up under Grey Rd. 4 and it got narrow and windier. So pretty.
Saw a very beautiful green heron - which doesn't happen often. And picked up 25 glass wine bottles, just 2 different kinds, corked but empty?? Weird.

Tuesday May 14 #

4 PM

cycling (town trails) 1:00:00 [3] 21.0 km (2:51 / km)

Dreary, drizzly day and not warm. Good day to finish my map etc.
I got cabin fever eventually and did a short lap of town after the rain ended. It was chilly though!

Monday May 13 #

9 AM

strength (backyard) 1:10:00 [3]

I was supposed to have Jury selection today but it got cancelled so instead I did a fun strength workout with Jen C., Susie and Connie O in the backyard on a lovely summery morning, birds chirping, nice breeze. Way better than jury duty.
12 PM

orienteering (Highlands) 1:30:00 [3]

Hung flags for the Biath-o-lon this Thurs. Rain was forecast but it stayed windy but warm longer than expected. I managed to hang all my flags and finished just as the rain started.

Sunday May 12 #

11 AM

cycling (country roads) 3:10:00 [3] 70.0 km (2:43 / km)

Beautiful Mother's Day. Connie O joined Goose and me for a nice long ride out the Trail Trail up Pretty River Road all the way over Grey Rd.4 to McIntyre then down to Singhampton and on a nice gravel road down to the road into Glen Huron. Brief stop for a drink. Buttertarts may have factored in as well. We flew down Sixth Line in the sunshine on a sugar high:)
