Sunday Apr 30

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1]
warming up for race, stretching before and after
Orienteering race 1:48:25 [4] *** 11.4 km (9:31 / km) +375m 8:10 / km
After getting improper rest after yesterday's run due to lack of sleep, I thought I wouldn't even be able to run 11km race but in the morning I felt fine so I decided to stay on red. The race turned out ok to my surprise because I made no mistakes and was running/jogging pretty much the whole course. I was dissappointed with so much trail running though..
This was definitely a challange course for me because I'm not used to running such long distances, but from the start I took it as training rather than a race so I'm definitely happy with how I did.
Weather was perfect also :) should have camped..

Glad i only had to run a green course b/c i definitely need to take it easy with this cold.
Interesting terrain but very slow, even for me..
made one mistake on number 2, the 7500 scale messed me up so I didnt run far enough. The rest of the course was ok..

Orienteering 1:24:04 [4] *** 7.6 km (11:04 / km) +360m 8:57 / km
Classic Pig.
Didn't like the course very much, not really interesting, all climb in the beginning and flat marshy terrain at the end. Had 1 stupid mistake on way to 7 and was a lil wobbly throughout the course. Gu helped run the 2nd half but overall felt tired and out of touch with the map.
also right lower leg starting from ankle hurts since friday, might be the it band but im not sure, hopefully it will be gone soon..
Fun weekend..

Saturday Apr 1

Orienteering 36:59 [5] *** 4.2 km (8:48 / km) +190m 7:11 / km
Relay Championships: 2nd leg Orange course. HVO 4 pt team.
Although we got 2nd place, it was still very exciting.
I did fairly well considering i'm not a big fan of relays. No mistakes on the course, felt that i was running very good and keeping focus and map contact at all times. Catching up to other people running the same course didn't seem to bother me, it did seem to bother them though. Maybe the pressure of running a relay actually helped me keep concentrated throughout the course. I should put more pressure on myself when running regular courses.
This experience definitely reshaped my opinion about relays, my teammates were awesome.

I didn't run the sprint because I think it's not really a priority for me and it definitely stresses my body way too much.
anyway, i felt nice having support from Sergei, he prepared me well for the races so some credit of my increased orienteering abilities should be attributed to his well-doing.
