Orienteering 1:04:00 [3] *** 5.82 km (11:00 / km) +140m 9:49 / km
shoes: LOP
Red 2: somewhat less crappy orienteering
slow start, i was quite relaxed this morning, this was a training weekend and so i allowed myself no usual rushing to run faster than i should.
i generalized a lot during this course, something i don't do very often, and it payed off as i hit most controls except for 11 and 14, first one being due to the shitty mapping of the area and 14 due to slight rushing to finish.

I'm still in a decent shape :)
Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]

Saturday Sep 29

Event: Boulder Dash 2007

Orienteering 1:08:00 [3] *** 5.82 km (11:41 / km) +105m 10:43 / km
shoes: LOP
Red 1: crappy orienteering.
Started fairly slow, trying to find the damn trail when cutting through the woods realizing only afterwards that i came down to it eventually, mom told me i was running on it, i wouldn't have known otherwise.
sketchy map didn't really match the terrain, going to 2 was slow as i was trying to avoid the green but it was impossible since it was everywhere. going down to 3, hitting the stone wall which extends further than shown on the map. getting stuck in the green on way to 4,quite some time lost. route to 7 was around on trail but lost the small trail and went up too early. screwed up 10 going up early again, green to 11.
tough orienteering when you expect certain things to come up, esp. near the control, and not only they're not there but there a hell-lot of other unmapped crap.

Fast course with only minor hesitations on my part. Focus and concentration were good except for some distraction by my stomach again, i forcd the pain to go away though :).

Fun meet, third place overall.
Strength Training 7:00 [1]
Note
Cracked the heel part of my left ankle yest back at home, hurt quite a bit when walking, sore after todays race. hopefully its just some ligaments and nothing serious.

Sprint 1, nice woods with stinging hornets, def love those.
Started out as training and developed into a semi-race. Couldn't help it.

Sprint 2: couldn't get in touch with the map this time and just dragged my ass around the course. Major stomach pains, same as in first one (not really stomach specifically, I don't realy know what it is, intestines? maybe even ovaries)

Sunday Sep 16

Orienteering 50:00 [2] ***
Brown course at Hickory Run. I actually liked the woods this time around b/c they took us to better part of the map. Anyway, stil sick so taking it really easy, jogging only. I was suprised that I could actually jog in the woods b/c usually it requires some effort but then again it wasn't hilly at all.
My time would have been ~40min have I not spent some time looking for #1 control (and shivering b/c it was damn cold), which was incorrectly drawn on my map. should have figured out by the legend that it was on the boulder 100m away. oh well.

Friday Sep 14

Running 30:40 [1] 3.0 mi (10:13 / mi)

Westmoreland red course, same as 2 yrs ago when Sergei first started hitting on me :)
Clean run with 1 minor wobble but absolutely no energy, pretty much walking up the hills. Humidity and hot weather prob some factors.

Def. feeling the tired legs but ended up doing whole course running by myself, making some mistakes as usual. Stomach feeling funky, esp. after sprint. Enjoyed these woods very much.

Sprint type course set up by Greg with controls and everything, even stands (suprised he didn't get attacked by gay men while hammering those things in :)
Ran on tired legs but felt decent to not take this lightly. Mistake on 3, losing ~2min.
