Note

Three pilot batches complete, two more next week. Today's one was causing troubles due to the fabulous ability of one polymer to hold air bubbles and refusing to let them go. Hours and hours spent under vacuum. We shall see tomorrow if the product passes specs.

Was planning to go for a swim today but my friend from work convinced me to go for a jog with her instead. Did first half solo at good pace, then second half super easy, with nice chatting though.

Went up to Harriman with mom for some quality orienteering. Did the Long course I didn't get a chance to do during past training camps. There was a one to three inch cover of melting snow on the ground, as the temp. today was mild, reaching 50 degrees F. Harriman seemed much more benevolent covered in white. Sometimes this was deceiving, and I found my feet either getting stuck between rocks or soaked in cold invisible streams. Overall though, the soft snow carpet provided great cushion and made running quite pleasant. Also, there was definitely something special about running on clean snow, the act of making footprints where there was none before, it just felt like the forest belongs to only you. I savored every minute of it.

Running 57:29 intensity: (27:29 @1) + (30:00 @2) 7.15 km (8:02 / km) +227m 6:56 / km
shoes: Salomon speedcross 3

A much needed run after a stressful work week. And it's about to get even more stressful over the next couple of weeks because I have four formulas going into pilot production, which is 50 kg each. Gasp. It's so large. Monday will be my first time, and I'm so nervous..

Footing at High Mtn Park was far from ideal: hard snow, not packed neatly, icy spots. Tried out my old Salomon speedcross because they have nice traction but alas, they're still too narrow and will cause me foot problems, and so I will donate them. Enjoyed my slow shuffle nevertheless, and I could feel my motivation is starting to return. Hopefully, I will get into an actual training mode soon.
