Trail to Green Lake. I'm feeling awful on my runs, unsurprisingly considering my diet has consisted of just rice for the last week. However, despite my legs feeling like jelly, and my energy levels being that of a ... ah ... lizard at night time ... in winter ... I did manage to maintain a good speed. I did need to have a 30 sec breather on the hill back, as my breathing got out of control and my legs nearly buckled, but hey I actually felt ok on the last stretch back, and managed to stretch my legs on the downhill.

Morning road run. I decided not to run in the trails at 7.30 am after a day of rain. Main reason was I convinced myself I was going to get eaten by a cougar, but also probably not the most sensible to run where there are no people, after that much rain, when there's an increased likelihood of going over on my ankle or something. Plus there's a good amount of climb in this road run, which is good to get into my training.

Trail run in the pouring rain :) Same as monday, but running alone this time. I paused for about 60s at the boulder clearing to look at the view. Had thoughts regarding how destructive my behaviour has been recently, pondered whether I was developing bipolar disorder, but decided my impulsive decisions are not consistent with a manic episode but with emotional stress. Then I decided that I've made the right decision to just focus on having fun and not thinking about anything else...if that's possible...but realising at some point I will have to decided whether I attempt to gain residency here after my visas run out, or whether I return home, but for myself with no expectations. I'm not ready to make that decision yet, so I turned around and ran home. A lot to think in a minute!

I took Maddy and SIle for a gentle jog around lost lake. I'm not adding it in as training. They did very well for their first run.

Beautiful run with Phil. I can't describe how much of a difference there is in running through a forest than on the road. It's kinda mind blowing. We ran down Blackcomb via the old trail road, and then into the trails in the trees around lost lake. Headed towards Green lake, ending up on a boulder clearing with a fantastic view of the lake and mountains. We took in the view for a few minutes and then headed back the way we came. Some good elevation, can't remember what Phil's watch said ... 200 and something? Phil? A small start to the training for the 5 Peaks challenge. That'll be hard.

Awesome. So beautiful running on trails through the forest. Some really good climbs in there too, and lots of undulating twisting trails. Ran with Phil. He did fantastic. I was so excited to be running somewhere so nice.

Trail run :) First one. Awesome. Wearing new Salomon trail shoes. No idea how far i ran as just went out for enjoyment. Ran down staff hill ski run, off to lost lake and around, then off onto the ski x country trails and then ran up some bike trails. Ran past the frisbee golf course a couple of times. Had to reverse back to the lake and then past golf course and up spear hill and across blackcombe base 2 back to staff.
