Running 37:46 [3] 4.9 mi (7:42 / mi)
(sick)

A sane person would have rested again today, but I just got too stir crazy. Just a short run. Chest is a bit better, but still there. Went out with two layers on and gloves and hat.

Note
(sick)

Urgh still ill. If it were just a head cold I'd still run, but it's on my chest. Very frustrating. I wanted to get some good runs in before my flight out on Thursday. Hopefully will feel less chesty tomorrow and can at least get in a little run. I hate sitting around doing nothing. Hate it. Hate being lazy. Bloody waste of time.

Note
(sick) (rest day)

Enforced rest day. I think my near hypothermic experience (+ craig charles night on the tiles) on Saturday threw my body over the edge. Cold has travelled down onto my chest. No sleep last night, and in a delirious and feverish moment woke up to find I'd stripped - ha ha!

Cycling 2:00:00 [3]

Cycle from Macclesfield to Goyt Valley via the Cat and Fiddle Pub. No halving of the time for me, as that was a killer cycle. I actually enjoyed the cycle up, I didn't so much enjoy the cycle down into the valley; it was so cold and I was definitely borderline hypothermic. When we reached the orienteering event I was so cold I decided to run Orange (ok maybe an excuse). Good though, very beautiful area. Cycled back a different route, still some pretty tough climbs, but no where nears as rough as the way in.

Orienteering 45:00 [3] 3.5 mi (12:51 / mi)

Erwood Forest - 30 mins orienteering plus 15 mins running back and forth at the end to keep warm, whilst waiting for Nick to get back.

Friday Oct 26, 2012 #

Swimming 40:00 [3]

1250m

Golf (Driving Range) 30:00 [3]

There for about 45 mins. I can't hit a golf ball :) Was fun though.

Running 30:00 [3] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Gentle run with Reggie, Nicks sister in law. He was coaching her on hills today. 4 x up a hill. 2 x with a down hill loop after, and 2 x up the hill as fast as she could run. I ran to support.

Dancing (Ballet) 1:00:00 [3]

Class in Manchester. Good stuff. Feel taller :)

Wednesday Oct 24, 2012 #

Running 45:00 [3] 6.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

Running along the Mersy.

Yoga (Class) 1:10:00 [3]

Great class

Running 1:05:00 [3] 8.0 mi (8:07 / mi)

3 x 800m in the middle with 2 min recovery. Run With Chorlton Runners.

Monday Oct 22, 2012 #

Running 40:00 [3] 4.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Slow run with Reggie and Nick.

Skiing 1:00:00 [3]

2 hour ski pass. 30 mins spent faffing changing my boots as they were too loose and I couldn't control the skis. Last hour and half good. At Chill Factore in Manchester, so didn't have my own kit so never felt quite as comfortable as I do at MK.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]

Simpson Ground. Out for a very long time, getting very lost. Managed to find each control I set out for, in the end, but had to stop after control 7 as I'd already been out to 2.5hours. More orienteering next Saturday, and that'll be my last for at least the 6 months I am in Canada. There does come a point where one needs to admitted I just can't do this. My brain does not work that way. Still, I had fun (ish), and it was a lovely day.

Running (warm up & down) 40:00 [3] 4.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Running (5k Park run MK) 21:25 [3] 3.1 mi (6:55 / mi)

MK Park run. New PB. Previous 21:48. A bit disappointed though, as was confident I could do under 21mins. I think my error was running off too fast and dying a bit in the last 2K. Second lady, but proof ran off too fast as was ahead of the first lady for the first 2.5 K, then shes gradually got further and further ahead of me, finishing 20mins dead on. On the plus note had lots of people at the end come up to me to say well done, and one guy saying 'you keep a hell of a pace' - made me realise I shouldnt be too disappointed.

Running 36:44 [3] 4.88 mi (7:32 / mi)

Easy run. Trying not to tire myself out before Saturday, as I want to run as well as I can. Slightly concerned that the MK parkrun will be very windy if the last week as been anything to go by.

Wednesday Oct 17, 2012 #

Running 48:17 [3] 6.7 mi (7:12 / mi)

Very windy today. Ran hard.

Tuesday Oct 16, 2012 #

Running 1:12:45 [3] 9.44 mi (7:42 / mi)

Slow run. I knew legs weren't having any of it today. It always takes me a while to recover from night shifts, even if I did sleep for 12 hours last night! So decided while out that if I couldn't run well, then I'd at least make it a longer run. I was wearing my mums trainers, as I still haven't unpacked mine yet.

Skiing 1:00:00 [3]

2hr lift pass

Sunday Oct 14, 2012 #

Running 30:00 [3] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Stretches/Core exercises 30:00 [3]

Friday Oct 12, 2012 #

Running 20:40 [3] 3.1 mi (6:40 / mi)

Dead pleased. Run was mostly uphill and in wind. There were some downhill sections though that will have compensated a bit. 5min warm up + 5min warm down.

Note

Need to get some stretching/yoga in. I've been doing odd bits here and there, but looking at my attack point I need to have a good session for risk of seizing up into one big ball of knotted muscle fibres! Night shift tonight. No run planned for tomorrow, so, I WILL (are you listening lazy Karen of tomorrow) do at least 30mins stretching tomorrow.

Thursday Oct 11, 2012 #

Running 47:48 [3] 6.7 mi (7:08 / mi)

Peeing it down with rain. My plan originally had been to do a longer run today, but I decided that'd be no fun in the rain. I ran alongside Silverstone race track twice, and around the village, instead of going through the woods; I didn't fancy twisting my ankle again. Started off well, and pushed hard.

Swimming 35:00 [3]

40 lengths

Wednesday Oct 10, 2012 #

Running 47:12 [3] 6.4 mi (7:22 / mi)

Skiing 1:00:00 [3]

2hr ski pass at MK dome.

Tuesday Oct 9, 2012 #

Running 46:20 [3] 5.77 mi (8:02 / mi)

Slow run today. Went out with the intention of just enjoying it, rather than pushing myself. Still feeling tired from weekend, with a bit of a cold on. Decided that pushing myself today, especially with my night shifts coming up, wouldn't be a good idea.

Sunday Oct 7, 2012 #

Running 42:46 [3] 5.77 mi (7:25 / mi)

Still feeling a bit hungover, and tired from early shift at work, but felt alright running.

Saturday Oct 6, 2012 #

Running (Hangover Run) 46:13 [3] 5.77 mi (8:01 / mi)

So today was meant to be a long run day. No way after last night's shenanigans with rather too many bottles of white wine, aftershock, tequila and sambuca. So I've finally dragged my sorry arse out for a steady short run. Kept the speed consistent so as not to labour my breathing and invoke the waves of nausea.

Friday Oct 5, 2012 #

Cycling 1:04:00 [3] 18.0 mi (3:33 / mi)

Cycling around mk with mark. Somewhat of a trip down memory lane. We cycled around areas Ive not been too sincr in primary school. So many memories sprang into my head. I have to say we pushed hard. My legsll hurt tomorrow.

Running 48:22 [3] 6.4 mi (7:33 / mi)

Wednesday Oct 3, 2012 #

Running 32:00 [3] 4.1 mi (7:48 / mi)

Slow run. Legs were tired and heavy, and bones were hurting a bit. Decided to cut my run a little short as a consequence. Not too bothered though, as have done quite a bit of running recently, and prob just needed another rest day.
