Trying hard to not run, did a heap of squats and stretching and whatever else. Felt good!

Picked my way along the yarra, looking for singletrack. Was alright but frustrating to hit so many dead ends. Eventually came back to studley park and found the pump track! Played in there a fair while and then hit some of the rougher descents prettt hard and spurted the uphills ok. Overall i loved it, but also mising canberra a heap-tone

Right calf not in good shape this morning.... Sleeping seems to make it worse, somehow. Anyway, I am bummed not to get up to Ballarat missing out on both seeing mates and running with a map.

Run in to work, was kind of hammering to get to a 9am meeting so I just went with the lights whenever I could. I felt tight in the right calf from teh beginning but managed it pretty well and it seems to feel better now than it did in the beginning.

I slept from 7:30pm til about 7am this morning... I was completely zonked yesterday for some reason, kind of validates the way I was feeling on the bike in the morning.

Far out, this morning felt rough! I was feeling a bit low to start, so gave it a bit of stick to get the heart rate up and get into it... but just felt worse and worse. Still had a couple of pretty decent efforts in there, and held Steve off for one climb, but overall, my first truly "off" day on the bike for ages.

Was headed out for a lunchtime run, only to find that I'd forgotten some kit. So I did four loops of the stairs at work. Its actually quite a nice session! The climb is a minute at high intensity (basement to 6th floor) and i didnt get below 1:10 on the way down. I did it in my work outfit, shouldve taken my vest off before hand... i was dripping by the end and probably not a great colleague to be around for the rest of the arvo.
Overall, it was something out of nothing, and I will probably do it again sometime.

Ran in to work. I was pretty cautious about maybe stringing too many runs together, but felt good. Started out slowly, and even put in a couple of 20 second or so efforts to catch lights.

Saw KLan out on the corner of Canning St and Alex Pde counting bikes.

Rode Boule with a pretty big crew. I put the raft on my back to see how feasible my plan is to carry it at M2M and I think it went OK. Its actually a good reminder to straighten my back, as it punishes a curve pretty quickly. I rode a pretty even tempo the whole way, but had one effort right at the end to grab one KOM win. I think it will be my last for quite a while :) Beers at the Gem afterwards as Retreat doesnt have many outside tables anymore... I think the beer afterward will soon be overtaken by a third lap. Nowhere to sit, may as well be on the bikes :)
