Newborough Day 1

Wow! Such a class area, dunno how Ive never run here before! Didn't have an aim for the race and just wanted to enjoy it, which I did but resulted in a lot of bad orienteering. Also got next to no sleep last night as was out in lancaster with the NW 18s so felt terrible from the off, and got very dehydrated towards the end. Loved it though!

Am worried about my groin. Still hurting this morning in both sides - feels like a pull. Will go to phys testing but probably won't be able to run. Don't want to tick the box yet...

Phys Testing

Groin felt okay running beforehand so went ahead with the test knowing that if I felt anything I would have to pull out straight away. Not sure if this was a smart decision but I guess we'll see soon enough, physio booked for next week anyway. Didn't warm up much beforehand cos the guy made it seem like the first stage was warm up pace, but it definitely wasn't. Will know for next time.

Felt pretty dead after about 15km/h but managed to push until the end of 18km/h before giving up. Pretty happy with this, it's what I expected to achieve from my current fitness. Probably could have pushed on for a little bit after the 30s rest between stages but ahh well, room for improvement and was completely dead when I stopped anyway.

Enjoyed it in a strange kinda way, looking forward to getting my results back!
