Spider webs, spider webs--haven't missed that part.

Monday Aug 18

hiking 47:52 [2]
Up to Gunn, 24:19, and back, 23:33

Lots of body parts complaining about this hiking thing, including shins which will need time to recover.

Mom with fawns were in the front of the house when I drove out to get the mail.

Saturday Aug 16

hiking 1:04:10 [2]
Nice hike with my sister-in-law, Donna, in Litchfield Ponds. First time I've used the blue duct tape, caught 3 FDFs and never noticed any. Saw and talked to some mushroom pickers. They were gathering black trumpets as well as something else. Niece, Alex, wanted to go get some for dinner, so Donna, Alex and Peter went back later and got some. Tasty.

This morning, Monday, two fawns were right out the kitchen window. One, at least, has settled down right inside the tree line for a nap. Don't know where mom is.

Thursday Aug 14

bike 45:00 [2]
30 min. before the elliptical and 15 min. after. The first 30 the knee was okay then not so good. On the bike heart rate about 122, and 143 on the elliptical.
elliptical trainer 15:00 [3]
Had to tie my shoe, started to do another 15, then decided I'd better build more slowly.

Sunday Aug 10

orienteering 57:21 [2]
Wasn't sure what I was going to do, but when I arrived Nancy N. suggested we do the white course in reverse order since she had already done it with her grandkids. At the start we managed to get both a yellow map and brown map and picked some controls. We usually didn't go to them, but stopped somewhere close or on the way. If we saw a control from a long way off, we picked a new point.

My knee was worse this morning with a couple of more painful steps, but felt okay after that. Increased soreness tonight, hope it calms down overnight.

Saturday Aug 9

orienteering 51:33 [2]
Wooho, out on an O map two days in a row. Took the sprint map from 2 years ago and walked most of it in reverse order. Knees mostly felt back to normal in the morning. I dialed down the correction on the brace and it felt a little better. At the moment my left knee and hip are bothering me more. Would be nice to have O shoes and ankle braces to try as well.
swimming 15:00 [1]
Leisurely swim at the hotel pool. Left when too many kids came in.

Friday Aug 8

orienteering 50:00 [2]
Time is an estimate. Walked and talked with Nancy N. around the sprint course. Very pleasant. Knee and brace hurt a lot. Soooo nice to be out on a map.

Monday Aug 4

bike 30:00 [2]
