ohhhh wow.
Tas middle champs at pittwater dunes.
When i arrived i remembered that brooner had shown me a map of this years ago to which i shook my head and asked "so how would anyone actually orienteer on that"... i think his response was basically to take a really good bearing and hope for the best.

I was way outta my comfort zone on this. Essentially every control was bingo. Completely lost contact multiple times... completely... meaning 10 minutes of wandering around each time.

I think i should have simply walked... took a bearing and spent 5 minutes at the start standing still until i understood the map. Were the contours different from normal? it felt like the lunsen map when looking at it, except every lump being twice as high.
Lunsen really should have given me a really good prep for this...

Looking back at livelox, i can't understand how i managed to get the controls i did tbh.

8x 'agility intervals' with australopers at mt nelson... essentially a 80 second o-sprint without a map around awkward bends and stairs in a school. quite fun.
Still had some pep so finished with 2x8min trail tempo (aiming to maintain around 170bpm).
