Orienteering race 2:01:49 [5] 11.0 km (11:04 / km)

NOL long at Crooked Straight. really wanted to run this as its a great area and Simon always sets awesome courses.
Legs were pretty wrecked after yesterday and figured the only way I was going to make it round was just to let everyone go and trot along at my own pace. had a pretty clean run - just missed the first control on the second loop. I didn't try to run the steep or really sandy bits and my legs survived ok - much less painful than yesterday.
Course was as good as expected so really glad I did it.

Some kind of jog trying to get legs moving. very painful. got given the hurry up by the spectators on the way up to the start cos apparently I was late for the briefing. meh.
didn't bother with a warm down.

Orienteering race 49:17 [5] 6.0 km (8:13 / km)

NOL at Bunyip Reach. awesome area. head not quite in it when I started - just took a while to recalibrate the map reading to the erosion. then didn't see 1 when I got there - tucked away in it's little gully. stupidly ran to a wrong control on the way to 3, but then got into reading it ok.
Caught tara who'd messed up 4, and tried to keep with her for a few, but my legs really didn't like running in the soft stuff. having major issues with calf and hammy insertions behind my knees and it got crazy painful. really struggling in the last part of the course, and then didn't see 18 in its little hole and wasted a minute or so there. the rest was just a jog-walk to try and get home.

warm up trying to get legs moving after the drive. tried to do a warm down but legs too painful to move. swim in the murray was heaps better.
