Austrian Relay champs in near zero degree weather, light snow. Same map as yesterday, a great area I thought.
Ran second leg in a team of OLC Graz misfits: PVA from Switzerland, Georg frm M18 and me. Good to get some more relay experience, even though I was wheezing and panting the whole way around the course. As it happened, most of the placings were decided on the first leg, and PVA came back in 4th. Had an ok start with a few wobbles, then as the course headed into the tough part of the map I tried to stay straight and steady, which went well. got caught through here by two teams but never really saw them, while I caught and dropped another team. bad mistake on the penultimate control though which was a bugger. Georg kept it together to finish 6th.
shame not to get any head to head racing but I'm glad I came to these events. night train home tonight, (which turned out to be good, getting a cabin mostly to myself).

Austrian middle champs. Basicaly still sick, but decided to get the night train friday night to graz any how and jog the middle. Good alpine terrain, a xc ski area with thick blueberries and marshes so just jogging was a good session. also bloody good compass training with lots of long vague legs.
