Radnor Red Run 5k Steeplechase.
Weather: awesome (if a bit sunny) at ~72F
Course: wet grass, longer this year, and they added ~5 obstacles, too, which slowed everyone a good bit. Inov-8s this year instead of the ol' XC shoes. Inov-8s are even lighter!
Results: 24:09.96, 44th of ??, 5/20 in (stronger this year) age group, sold #4/20 on orienteering!
I'm glad I got out for a bit of pushing. Good confidence building. Wasn't going to do this today, as I've not done any intervals this year really, just working on miles, but Juliet convinced me. So what the heck! Training. I should do more races, as it's good for me mentally ... the race prep and start, etc. Got nervous and had a bad night's sleep, but caffeine and good prep made it a non-issue.
I left my Garmin at work, so no deeper eval ability ... whatever.
I'm not sure that mile marker 2 was correct, as my 2nd mile didn't feel
that bad, and my 3rd mile certainly didn't feel like a crushing PR :):
