Penn Orienteering! I just met with Jason Erdman, the head of Penn Recreation's Outdoor Adventure. He's working on their spring schedule, and is interested in adding some O.

The awesome: they have transportation for students to get to events!

At this point I'm thinking of doing two or three scheduled trips to spring DVOA events, with me and another volunteer or two to help with beginner training and after action review. Easy to get in the Penn Rec schedule, which immediately gets details to gym members: all undergrads and fac/staff members who use the gym. And there's an e-mail list for the Outdoor Club, and other social media sources that have huge followings. We might target market to the Penn Running Club, too.

If we feel ambitious, a pizza and O night at the gym in the winter, as well, to do some learning, with an indoor O event (like they do in the winter in Sweden). And/or a private event at Schuylkill Center, through DVOA's ES team, or just through me and my minions. You know who you are. ;)

And if there's interest, Jason's a master at teaching and encouraging students to form and run sporting clubs. I volunteered to coach. So maybe in a few years West Point will have a serious contender. :)
