Running (3 x Crum Laps + 2.5mi) 3:29:50 [3] 19.09 mi (11:00 / mi) +2312ft 9:52 / mi
shoes: Inov-8 Trailroc 245 (1st pair)

I'm happy with my training miles this week, but this was not a great run in several ways:
  • my gut pain has progressed from 'ignorable' to 'unignorable and affecting my game'
  • I had to stop and use the porta-john, so was behind time-wise, and ick
  • I got bitten by a dog!
Obviously the last one is the most interesting so: coming around a corner I see 2 humans and 3 mid-sized dogs (~30lbers?), about 50m away, all off leash. I stop (as I generally do), and 2 of the 3 dogs start racing toward me. This isn't uncommon, but the woman says "she doesn't like people!!", which I think is "she doesn't bother people" or something, because that's what people always say, and what the f*ck am I supposed to do with that information anyway?

I'm standing there, the 2 running dogs come right up to me and one growls at about 5 feet away, and then bites me on the quad, about 6 inches above my knee. It didn't hurt, but was pretty surprising. I yelled. I yelled some more. The woman was trying to call the dogs, but they just ran down the trail.

The man went by with the other dog. I made sure he got a good look at the bite, and I told him if I saw them with the dogs off leash again I would call the police. Stupid humans!

Post-shower shot ... much less dramatic

So dealing with that, and the porta-john left me short on time, and I was really hurting in the gut, so I only did 3 laps, then a few on the field to not feel like a total loser. :)

Got hot out while I was out there!
