WOC Test Long

Had some energy gels but no pockets, so was just hoping the tights were tight enough. But getting to the start triangle I realised they weren't, so spent some time pulling them out of the tights, and into the socks they went.

From the off I was already not really planning on racing. Messy to 1, alright to 2, but messy to 3.
On 4 I was confused, and jaysus nearly dropped a mile too low. At this point I was considering walking the whole course.
Anyway, got going a bit more and cruised around for a good while. Enjoyed the orienteering, but was taking physically easier routes throughout - 6, 8, 13, 16, 20.
Blew a solid amount of time round that first section - maybe 5mins, and a bit more in the middle too, maybe another 1- 2mins.
Saw Darren & Conor going to 20 as I went to 16 which was a minor motivator.

Got caught by Blanes & another Spaniard at 20, so tucked in for 21. Interesting to see the pace and how long I might last. Wasn't terribly quick, but solid. Started falling off in the last section of the leg and ended up making about 30-45s mistake which was a shame.

Fine through the last section just tired.

Good to get a long orienteering session in in decent terrain, I enjoyed it.
