Hillreps.
Short warm up out to Kilmashogue Lane.
Then started the hillrep at Columba's, and went up to the car park for Kilmashogue. 5 reps, easy pedal down recovery.
Times: 3:47, 4:09, 4:12, 4:16, 4:13.
Really tough climb, particularly at the end. Don't think my bike really has a low enough gear for the really steep hills, and it's an awkward battle putting all my weight down on each pedal.
Happy with the session. Killer.
Curragh MTBO
Pretty solid race, lost 3mins sellotaping my map to my makeshift map board. Not ideal, but I knew it was coming, so just had to take it on the chin.
Couple of poor routes too I think, didn't need to go wide to 4, went around on 3 unintentionally, but got to plan ahead too.
Generally pretty good, not the best technically on a mountain bike, so I took some more around routes and used it to try and spike controls.
Home - Laurence's - Enniskerry - Roundwood - Sally gap - Glendoo - Home.
Long cycle with lorrieq.
Strong enough, quads got a little tired in the latter stages, but not too bad. Laurence was keeping up well on the heavier bike, only started to slip back a little on the climbs near the end.
Gorgeous day for the cycle. Nice to now know the route too, and hopefully I'll get to do it again. Some tough climbs, but actually a bit less hilly than I anticipated.
in the physio.
Solid improvement. Feels much better, but still not back to running.
I'd say after next Monday's appointment I will be back to running. But I've had to drop out of the Mournes because of it.
Good to get back into serious training now, with the start of college. Even if it's not running.
71km on the bike yesterday was a nice return. Double sessions - it's nice to be back.
