I didn't even create an event page for the 3 hr and 6 hr rogaine that was going to happen, because it was tricky getting the permit.

Our current insurer and the State of Nevada could not work it out together,
so terraloco is unable to hold an event at Valley of Fire State Park near Las Vegas on February 21, 2015.

It was not publicized widely as we were waiting for it to be resolved,
but I wanted to make sure all know it is definitely canceled for 2015.

It is a wonderful area for map adventures and we hope to return in 2016 for an event and work out the insurance issue.

Sad. It is a fantascially spectacular area.

There doesn't seem to be any way of resolving insurance at the moment. We've had a few of our scheduled events this year - in areas we've used repeatedly in the past mind you - well scrutinised due to "legal/liability issues" (there's also something to do with 'land degradation' but that only applies to organised orienteering groups and not unauthorised trail bike riders). We're trying to resolve the issues but the government knobs in charge seem to think that banning us from the area is the easiest option.

This was a naming issue. It had to be me on the paperwork, not OUSA and its Member Clubs, which couldn't be changed.

Is that so they could sue you if anything went wrong rather than trying to extract money from a not-for-profit organisation?

Maybe they just didn't want to issue a permit.

Yeah obesity is quite an easy option innit?
