sorry about the underpass. as far as we were told there were no extra building works then the first thing I saw when we got to uni was someone putting a fence across the tunnel.

Typical uni - always construction work happening!

it would just be nice if you could find out when it was happening. few hours earlier and we could have marked up the maps

No probs Jayne, understand what happened. Unfortunately can't be avoided.

Probably made the long leg on the women's/public race better as it turned out (as long as you remembered where it was).

yeah I agree I think it made that leg better on the women's - but made the distance on the courses quite different.

I was pretty worried the guys had instantly forgotten about it when they all went left, but it sounds like most people just didn't see the eastern route (which was faster I think even with access through the tunnel).
