Sounds like something we used do at the waterfront trail to york blvd stairs back in the day. And then Doug Mahoney broke the record with a ridiculesly fast time so we stopped doing it. I recall it was an old Hammer/Tarno workout.
Yeah Tarno and I called it a 'stairs pyramid'. Mostly did it at the waterfront stairs as Hans says but we also did it a few times at Chedoke. Ok very few. Absolutely killer workout because I think there are something like 19 or 20 landings. That stretch where you run up to 17, 18, 19, 20, 19, 18, 17 landings is where it hurts the most. Once you are back to <10 landings it goes quickly. Waterfront took about a 15 minutes for the workout. Chedoke was much much longer.
Hans' story about Doug is correct. Once he destroyed the time we moved on.
I was about 50-55 minutes and the middle was the toughest. Hans you have to do this race in Greenland it's insane we have to hook up so I can tell you about it.
I followed it online and I am glad you're back. We should definitely hook up.
I will only do the race though if it was insanely good. Just insane doesn't appeal to me.
I did half of that workout once, with Hans and Simon and Paul at Chedoke. In snow. Tough one. We should do more. (Or, in my case, any).
