Jase did that too! There was also a decision point (T junction) without a control on it .... more like a yellow perhaps?! Think it'll take a week to dry out all the kit - wild!!
Worst planned white ever re the start position (badly placed on a decision point) and not having a control on a crucial decision point. Controller should be shot, planner should be not allowed to plan junior courses until brain is re-engaged.
Oh, and as you can't shadow juniors on the white prior to running I did my course, got changed and then took the kids up to get their white map - no maps, course closed, start collected in. Thankfully, Roger Smith snatched a map off a finishing junior and after heading up the wrong track we managed to get to No1 before it got collected and we're "left to it" from then on. If there hadn't have been a Harvester & Forwarder parked on the junction with no control Matthew could have been deep into Grizedale ! We trust these people with our kids?!?
We got to the finish, and Laurence was nowhere to be seen. I had a bit of a freak out as we were getting cakes after, and I didn't think he would go back to the van without one no matter what the weather. I had visions of a trot into deepest darkest Grizedale, but checked with download and he was back, and thank goodness he was waiting in the van...
Phew! Parent's worst nightmare.
I 'lost' Robbie at Simpson Ground - turned out he'd gone to the pub with AAOC - thats my boy!!
Ha ha! Brill, what a dude.
