I am pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for the 2016 Junior National Team (JNT). The applications will be posted on OUSA website at this link http://www.orienteeringusa.org/us-teams/junior/inf.... It may take a few days for the new applications to get posted so please email me for an application if you want to get started right away erinschirm@gmail.com. We will be accepting applications for 2016 until December 21st.
There are a few new items in the Addendum this year. Please look these over as they may affect your decision to apply for the team. The first addendum item is a team travel waiver. The second items is what jobs you’re willing to volunteer for on the team. The third is a tentative schedule of National training camps, high priority races and other regional training camps to date. This will continue to be updated as the year progress. The last and most important part is a basic financial break down of the costs you may be facing if your athlete is selected to the team. The list describes everything that is offered. You do not have to do everything to be on the team but there are some basics so please consider these costs when signing up. The financial picture may also seem daunting. If you are passionate about perusing orienteering excellence and finances are your only barrier please email me. We can work something out.

Any junior who is not selected to the team, and anyone who is interested in joining the Junior National Community is invited to join group training calls a couple times a month. On the calls we will discuss training, navigational technique, arm chair and other topics connected to training. If you are applying for the JNT we will have your information. If you are not applying for the JNT please send me an email erinschirm@gmail.com so I can send you a simple sign up form to have your contact information on hand. I encourage all juniors who’s club does not have much junior activity, and who are interested in JNT but the commitment is too much or too expensive to consider this option. I will be posting the call schedule in January for people to mark on their calendars.
