Well done Will! Very impressive race basically on your own with no New England O-experience. It was fun to hang out with you. Glad you made the trip!

Pretty cool you came out for the 'Goat. Seems like you enjoyed it; you certainly did well!
The Team Trials woods are a lot different. They're hilly and very open, with very little mountain laurel and many more stone walls. Really fun stuff. I think you'll lik it.

Great race! It would have been interesting if you had used Isak at 12 rather than the more educational solo experience. I wonder what the outcome would have been?

An intriguing question indeed. We were within 5 or 10s of each other on most non-error splits, and being together would have presumably mitigated or eliminated my struggles with 16 and 20, so it's at least possible things could have come down to a sprint over the last 2-3 trail legs.

Which Isak would've won, given that he has young, springy legs and I have old, creaky legs.

Great to decide that doing it on your own would be a better learning experience.

If you don´t make a habit out of it there´s definitely also a useful learning experience to be had running with someone better than you since it makes you realize how fast things can be done and what you need to improve.
