My favorite place to look is Öystein Kvaal Österbö's page: http://folk.ntnu.no/oysteios/kart.html
Mats Troeng has a nice collection from 2005-2007: http://www.matstroeng.se/
Dani Hubmann is another one:

And if you surf around worldofo, you'll find tons more!

I think the maps on Thierry Gueorgiou's website make for very good armchair study.

Not only does he sketch in his course, but sometimes he manipulates the map file to "simplify" the map, showing only the features he used. And he has maps from all over the world, not just the nordic countries.

Randy Hall has a large online collection, with lots of US maps and a bunch from really exotic locations:

...sources for orienteering maps for map study besides PG's site...

Am I the only one that can't seem to find any recent maps or runs logged on PG's website? The most recent seem to be some WCOC sprints last January.

While I appreciate PG's active AP participation where maps and runs are often uploaded, it would be disappointing to see this vast repository of North American orienteering languish.

Well, I haven't been doing much orienteering this year, plus the main page is woefully behind. Let's see if I can at least fix that up today. Nothing like someone complaining to get me going on something.... :-)

OK, so I've at least added links to this year's maps (not many). That's a start....
