Looks like the US has three qualifiers for the A-final: Michael Laraia, Amanda Johansson, and Aasne Troemborg. Some very nice runs were had, including a few close results! On the Canadian side, Pia Blake qualified in her heat! Congratulations, and good luck in the middle final tomorrow!
With two qualifiers last year for the middle A final, last year was the first time since at least 1995 that the US had more than one middle A final qualifier. Having three qualifiers this year, and some very solid races by others, is excellent!
Looking at WinSplits, many of the US runners showed themselves capable of running really fast, high-ranking legs; this is also super encouraging: they have the speed, and were running on that edge where you risk making errors, and I guess that's where you want to be in a competition at this point. Now to reduce the errors, while keeping that speed...
