Boy, add up all those times losses and you were pretty close to finishing before you started! That would have been impressive.

Carrying the card someplace other than stapled to the map can help, too.

I used to tape the card up and put it on my wrist holder - but at this meet they weren't handing out punch cards until you got to the start table, so I just stapled it to the map and stuffed it in there. That's one reason I like e-punch, one less thing to mess with.
