Week ago I began to wrote simple live GPS tracking system for orienteering sessions like Yökuppi in mind.

Now I have got to the point it would be useful to see how things work when there is several phones tracked simultaneously. If you have android phone and feel like testing a little contact by making comment to my log / checking details I will possibly have there. Thanks.

I can do this, I have my phone in developer mode so it is easy to test out arbitrary APKs. You already have my email, right?

If you have a suitable backend API I can look at adding support into IpBike. I added in support for https://livetracking.io/ a couple of months back. It's open source so you may want to take a look. The as yet to be release version of IpBike has support for an alternate backend using the livetracking.io api's.

I can test. Your e-mail is hard to find... :) I tried to!

I also have another old mail for you about CheckOmap.

Well, I got CheckOmap from Jerker and promised to try it out, but then more urgent things appeared and then two crazy swedes contacted for ant mapping project and those more urgent stuff had to wait and now I can't even remember what those urgent issues were. And that CheckOmap got totally forgotten. But Zerbembasqwibo, check your twitter messages.

Testing it out today. It is our district champs, a team race, not sure what it should be called in English (?). Controls all around the map, some of them are common all members must visit, but most are the kind only one member has to visit. So they divide controls for each team member. And at the end there is common control where team members has to wait for all members to arrive and then continue together to the finish.

Mass start start in about 3 hours. One or two teams will be tracked.

Two teams have now the app at least. It's veterans vs. youngsters. I'm (unfortunately) in the first one.

These new tiny php scripts seem to work well enough, so next step is testing is there any problems in installing/setting it up. Contact me if you feel like trying it out on you web host, I'll send you download link. Later if all goes well (and most typos / grammar corrected) the link will be openly available. Thanks.

Note, this is intended to be tool for club sessions with ~50 simultaneously tracked orienteers, regulars using their own phones), with possibly no pre defined start times, tracking viewer using one raster background map image with all courses (over 3 courses will be illegible?) on it. With a feature to upload additional gpx files afterwards so those not live tracked could join post race fun afterwards. In other words, for infamous Yökuppi style sessions. As it is now, back end, animation buffers and nothing really is designed for ultras or multi day adventures in mind for requiring longer recording interval to make battery last and longer buffer to keep dots moving in between.
