To mark World Orienteering Day, I'll be taking on the challenge of attempting to do orienteering events in four states/territories of Australia on the same day. The plan is as follows:

- start by doing a MapRunners event in Brisbane (Queensland) first thing in the morning.
- fly to Canberra, then do the Wednesday lunchtime event at Mount Ainslie (ACT) and cross the border to do a park event in Queanbeyan (New South Wales).
- fly on to Melbourne (Victoria) in time to do the Wednesday evening park/street event there.

In conjunction with this we're running a fundraiser for Australian national teams through the Australian Sports Foundation. If you'd like to sponsor me to do this, the donations page is here. (Donations are tax-deductible for Australian taxpayers). Proceeds will be split between the WOC, JWOC and MTBO WOC teams.

You're snubbing the South Aussie WOD event: http://sa.orienteering.asn.au/events/?EventID=4081

Maybe next year. Considered starting (or finishing) in Adelaide but flight times didn't work.

Of course not, it's Adelaide. BTW, does anyone know who's organising the WOD event in Antarctica (on which country's territory)?

Looks like the donation 'clock' is moving - I guess it only updates when money reaches the ASF bank account on the next weekday.

Starting in Adelaide would be doing it the hard way wouldn't it (based on timezones I mean, not Adelaide's progressiveness)?

A short note to let people know that the mission was accomplished, despite the best attempts of the Brisbane fog to scuttle it. More details on my log.

The donations page will stay up for another couple of weeks if you still want to contribute.
