I was using Or to sort the results for a Score-O. In sorting the results, it is handling the points and penalties correctly. But then, all with the same number of points (Score Gross - Penalties) are listed under same rank, and not in the correct order of increasing time it took them for that particular score. I can't figure out why this is happening. It is not in alphabetical order of first or last names either, not in the order of their entry into the file. No logic that I can see.

edit: just read the instructions, it does appear to state that the results are sorted only by points, not also time. Is that correct?

In response to the edit - yes. It orders ties in points by time of download. (So things are mostly good for mass start events, as long as people download promptly after finishing.) For anything else, you have to manually order by time once you've exported results.

Ahh, that explains why I couldn't find the logic in the sorting. Would it then make sense to export data to, e.g., an excel file and then resort by points and then time?

I haven't dealt with exporting results, but I think our club epunch person exports to HTML for posting and then just edits the file by hand to get them in the right order. This works fine for local events as there aren't huge numbers of competitors. (During the event, Ór's display is used so people have to look at the times to figure out their actual placing.)

I dump to google sheet and update the sorting there. At least I know to look for that anomaly for live results, then easily fixed by the time people get home or try to look it up.

It has been explained to me by the developer that they don't secondary sort by time and just have people tie by points in Ireland for Score-O events.

The ordering of ties displayed is by some combination of order that people downloaded and the order they are in the entries list. So it is best if you can in a mass start to get people to download in the order they finish as quick as possible to minimize need to resort.

I export to HTML and and edit in my text editor of choice Notepad++ to fix the sorting and input the place numbers and then we publish the HTML results.
