Their no dog policy seems to be the preference of one particular Event Director. I suspect the only reason Multy's family doesn't raise a stink is because of the service dog exception...

Multy is a service dog??

That wouldn't surprise me.

@GuyO-as with many issues, this one has a certain amount of complexity, but I am not necessarily any better placed to comment on it than you.

I thought Multy's status as a palliative pooch was common knowledge within the DVOA community. ;-D

My hypothesis was based on first noticing this policy at the 2014 Relay Champs / IC, not seeing (or recalling) it at the 2015 IS/IC, then seeing it again now. Commonality between 2014 & 2017: same ED.

FWIW, I thought the no-dogs-on-the-course OUSA rule was an overreaction -- a solution in need of a problem...

Since TNT group exited DVOA ranks, lots of things have gone askew, in my opinion.

Just to be clear, I have absolutely nothing against DVOA or the event organizers. I don't think they have done anything wrong whatsoever, and in fact, have put in a lot of effort to make logistics work for us this weekend. It is entirely our decision to scale back our participation.
