Just wanted to Publically thank the OCAD upgrader and creator and New map kudos to Paul Bennett [ED] of HVO - aka Wanaque Ridge map (NJ)

Tease (from CS) 1:10.000 first usage will be 25 Nov 2017
size, small for orienteering, about 4.5 to 5 square KM, a Beta map (plans are to do more mapping (map expansion) and upgrading in 2018). This is a just good enough to hold a O meet map, minimal and low cost 3 month effort. ( AND its a long story)
access point, Wanaque Back Beach , Boro of Wanaque, NJ (cross streets , from Route 23 N or US 287, north on Ringwood ave, right on 4th street, bend left after new condos, park entrance small sign *CS will mark for event). 120 parking spots. even so, please car pool!! ( rest rooms will be open during Meet hours for the HVO and general public). Good restaurants abound, Il Pallazo for delish itailian is CS personal favorite (near the city hall, say Hi to Sal)
Description . medium rolling hills and occasional medium to small swamps dominate (in the valley). Above average rocks and cliff and boulder structures dominate in open forest. Good trail network. short steep climbs to central forest. Cross a hunters concrete bridge to start.
Map not used (Ramapo Lake State Park O map (HVO)) since estimated 2005 (another long story)
W, Yell Short, Yellow/HVO Long, Orange, Brown, Green, Red. courses.
